It seemed kind of cool, when they first announced that the Cubs would be playing the Pardes in the Final hall of fame game at cooperstown. But with the team rolling at 20 over .500 now, it seems more of an inconvenience that denies them some needed time to rest, on what should be an off day. If the game counted, rather than being an exhibition, it would still be inconvenient to make the trip for one single game, but it might seem more worthwhile. However, since Piniella is going to yank any regulars early and play mostly minor leaguers, it will be a short day. Its a nice honor to be chosen for this historical last game there, but I doubt many of the major leaguers will be sad not to play in another exhibition game, during a season.

thats why the cubs are calling up 15 minor leaguers to play the bulk of the game. none of our regular pitchers should spend any time playing 2day, hopefully.

I think the starters are going to play 1-2 innings. I would think that the major league staff would get the day off. No need/reason to burn innings on an off day.

Yeah, the extra travel and not being able to relax back at the hotel is the biggest issue. But perhaps we will get a look at some good arms from down on the farm that we have not seen till now.

Forget it, folks. Heavy rains in Cooperstown have cancelled the Hall of Fame Game today, which was supposed to be the last exhibition game played.

God did not want the Cubs to waste their energy in that game!

poor steve...now he can't see all those young pitchers he was all giddy about. He was all ready to watch the farmhands despite the game not being on over the air radio or TV....

So what exactly is the point of the game then if no one can see it or hear it? People who just happen to be at Cooperstown are going to be itching to see a minor league exhibition game?

Then thumbs down to Bruce Wolf who last nite said the HOF game was not on TV or 720, and only going to be on MLB's online radio (forget exactly what its called)

Very original. Is this the best you can do? Quoting other peoples movie lines? Did you do it because you can't think of any original put downs? Or did you say this because the guy you desperately emulate, Danny Mac, says this? Did you come up with this movie quote without having to go to IMDb.com? Or were you able to memorize all 5 words without help?
