Anyone thinks the Cubs will do anything?

I think they'll deal some and try to get more pieces I have no idea what Hendry will add but I expect a deal of medium to large proportions.

Like you I don't know what deal(s) the Cubs might make. There are a lot of things this team could use, notably more pitching, but I don't even know who's available/worthwhile.

They'll make some small deal just to say they did. Probably for a middle reliever who won't help much, like some lump from the Giants or Padres.

Personally, I would try to add to the bullpen, but from what I hear and read the Cubs are quite content with the bullpen. They might trade Eyre is the feeling I get.

i don't mind the Cubs getting Luis Gonzalez. Ward has been disappointing this year and if he can't hit, he is not going to help. Gonzalez might be a nice bat off the bench.

I don't see any big deals like trading for Raul Ibanez.

i think they are done. i also think that they did a nice 2-for-1 getting gaudin in that harden deal. the bullpen is getting crowded down there. i havent heard about a scott eyre return, but with marshall and cotts, they are in pretty good shape with lefties down there too.

If they bring in one more guy in the OF I want SPEED and DEFENSE. Late Inning Defense.

Pie can do it during call ups, but I want someone who will be on the 25 man roster

Lou has wanted another left handed bat, especially with Darryl Ward stinking up the joint. Gonzalez would make sense on the cheap. He's better than Ward.

agree with the post, ward has been sucking bad. would be nice to NOT have him there to make room for the perfect guy for the job that the cubs already have - micah hoffpauier. to me the problem isnt trading FOR another lefty bat, it is unloading one of the ones they have to make room. im not sure how the cubs could get rid of ward, though, and they dont have the room for 2 left-handed backup 1st basemen.

Unless Luis is bringing the Steroids he took in AZ with him I don't want him.

Micah will be up after the roster expansion for the home stretch but unless someone gets injured, he'll stay at AAA.

Daryle Ward has a higher OPS than Luis Gonzalez...and most of his at-bats are pinch hits - notoriously tough to perform in.

Not having done any research, it seems like Ward is the best pinch hitting specialist the Cubs have had in the last 10 years.
