This team has too many holes to fill in too short of a time! The bullpen is on self-destruct mode right now! Gaudin is horrible! He should never pitch again in the big leagues! He should never have been born! Marquis is absolutely terrible! He should be spinning complete game shutouts every time! Thats what 5th starters do on all winning teams! The offense is asleep at the wheel! Piniella is a terrible manager! Hendry is a lousy GM! This team was put together terribly! They need to be much more like Williams and Guillen! Theriot needs to be much more Cabrera-like! Soriano needs to take Carlos Quentin lessons!

The Brewers and the Cardinals are both kicking ass again!

AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!

EVERYTHING IS OUT OF CONTROL!

PANIC! PANIC! PANIC!

That is such a great catch phrase I had to make a parody song out of it...so I dedicate this crooning to Mr. Reason, for giving me the inspiration to write this...to the tune of "I Love Rock & Roll"...

Zack, that is a hoot, very well done. I hope you have time to do the whole song.
Now, if I could only influence you in other areas.

Game 1 was the only one that looked shaky. With Dempster and Harden going the next 2 games, the Cubs have far better match-ups. It's too bad that Marquis fell apart as quickly as he did. He was sailing along through 5 innings. Then just totally lost it. I agree with Schmitty-the guys Lou brought into the game were not guys you use when you really need to win a game. But he can't use Samardzija, Marmol and Wood every game. It is too bad that Gaudin is not performing better. I had hoped he could take over some of the innings Howry used to pitch.

This asshole had to have the 7th inning stretch lyrics in front of him.

I loved when he asked if DeRosa came up through the Cubs farm system.

Now, back to baseball. It's great that they had a big win today. Hopefully it continues tomorrow. Even with a sizable lead over Milwaukee & St. Louis, they still need to try to win every series from hereon out.

No real surprises so far. They lost when the 5th starter (Marquis) pitched and now have won behind Dempster. With Harden going tomorrow, their chances to take their 8th straight series are pretty good.

Uh oh!!! He's back!!! John "fuckin" Cusack. Singing the stretch. This is something that Cubs and Sox fans can rally around. We both hate Cusack.

He's a Cubs fan but that SOB was begging for World Series tickets in 2005. He'll probably be on both sides of town for the playoffs.

Wow, that was ball 4 from Marmol. Must have been a make-up call by the ump for the earlier pitches in the at-bat.

There were 2 other pitches that could have EASILY been called strike 3. The batter was foolish to take a pitch that close with 2 strikes and fortunate to get to look at all the pitches he did. Another great start for Harden today. I was surprised to see him go over 100 pitches though. I thought he would be lited after 6, even though he wound up striking out the side in the 7th, to tie his career high of 11 K's. 8 straight series' now the Cubs have either won or swept the series entirely. With the Buc's on deck.... Now 30 games over .500 .

Get set for another "trap" series.

Now there's a question about Lee's defensive skills.
I think it would've been more factual to use, "Lee grounds into another 6-4-3."

That's what he meant...another grounder for Lee means he has hit into another double play.

Pretty funny stuff.
