Oh I understand, 19 times out of 20 you go to the pen. But like I said, CC is yet to lose in a Brewers uniform so its working...for now.

They also do got a crappy bullpen, so I can see it from that side too.

Yeah but even the worst of bullpens should be able to protect a 6 run lead in the 9th.

Not to mention how much the loss of confidence Yost shows with these guys affects that bullpen in tight, tough games.

Also do the Brewers have a back up catcher? Kendall is going to be worn out by September if he is not already.

Mike Rivera is the backup, he starts maybe one out of every 15 games, if that, but Kendall has always started more games than most catchers.

I was somewhat surprised the Astros intentionally walked Kendall to get to CC in the 2nd inning. CC scares me more at the plate than Kendall right now.

Cecil Cooper is a dumbass. Anyone who took even a cursory glance at a scouting report would know that Sabathia likes to hit and hits well, whereas Kendall is a black hole.

first off...I'm a Kendall lover, since his Pirate days, so I won't even engage in a CC vs Kendall argument cause I'll look like a moron. but as far as CC goes, he took the first half of the season off...

Oky, and in interleague and the second half, he's developed a reputation for being a good hitting pitcher. Go after Kendall.

Ok CC is 8-0 since he came over to the NL.

He has beat
Colorado - 57-69
Cincy - 55-70
S.F. - 53-71
STL - (70-57)
Cubs - N/D 6.2 INNINGS, 4 RUNS 9 HITS AND 128 PITCHES
ATL - 56-69
WAS - 44-81
SD - 48-76
HOU (63-62)

Combined Record of teams he has pitched against. 522-613
Combined Records of teams he has earned a win against 446-555
6 of wins have come against teams that are at least 10 games under 500.

CC is good, but he is feeding off the bad teams in the NL and one big game he has had this year, he was hit pretty hard. In 5 of those wins, by the 7th inning he had at least a 5 run lead and completed those games, to repeat myself again, thats going to cost them.

Since the weekend before the All Star break, outside of Colorado, haven't the Cubs played every single one of those teams? And they have Washington coming up this weekend.

WYC?

I listen to sports radio, I hear a lot about the Cubs.

My point was you were insinuating that CC's numbers are as good as they are because he is pitching against shitty teams. But the Cubs are getting fat playing those same teams.

I agree that CC's pitch counts are way too high and that will probably hurt the Brewers in the long run. But its working for now, and the teams he's doing well against are the same teams the Cubs are beating up on. So why you brought up who he has pitched against beats the hell outta me.

My point in this thread Frank was that for one, CC is being over used, secondly, he has only beat two team with a better then 500 record and that in most of those wins he had big leads and there was no reason to run his pitch count up. What that has to do with your point that the cubs are beating those same teams, which is correct, beats me.

Here.

CC is being over used and will run out of gas soon.

6 of his wins are against the real bad teams of the NL. The one possible loss was against the team with the best record in the NL.

YES THE CUBS PLAY THESE SAME TEAMS

I originally thought like Frank, but I took a deep breath and re-read Vann's posts.
Frank, it's not that the CC has toiled against crappy teams. It's that CC has remained on the mound in the latter innings of contests where his clubs held a substantial lead.
Rodeo's point centers on CC's pitch count and how that might weaken the crooked-hat-wearing fellow at the end of the season.

Please keep pitching CC for complete games against the Pirates and Nationals. And while your at it where did you learn to manage?

My guess from Dusty Baker. I don't care about all the people who say he's a horse he WILL break down, he is not a superhero.

He's been exceptional against sub-par NL talent and looked like the bad pre-trade CC against the Cubs...hmmmm. Coincedence I think not.

Ok, I did go overboard by posting his stats since being traded to the brewers, but I am still confused what that has to do with who the cubs played since then. Its not like I said that the cubs are beating better teams...oh well, my point is cc is being overused as well as Sheets, keep doing it Ned, I have no issue with it at all.

Dikaia, I believe Yost is a Bobby Cox understudy, like Fredi Gonzalez.

I know the brewers won 1-0 and thier bullpen sucks, but sheets, coming off a start where he left early with a injury, to go 9 innings and 130 pitches... Ned must really hate his bullpen and that is why I dont fear them.
