He has been a terrific pitcher for the Cubs in many seasons. Started a couple of the most crucial games in 2016, including the deciding game of the NLCS and game 7 of the World Series where he pitched very well. That said, he has been pretty poor this season and hasn't gone deep into games, so the bullpen gets taxed on days he pitches. I tend to agree that it's time to move on. Thanks for the memories.

It's not hard for a major league hitter to whack a 87MPH fastball. It's like your average joe taking a turn in the "slow" batting cage. Get rid of this clown.

Greg Maddux and Mark Buehrle (among others) seemed to do just fine throwing less than 90mph for the vast majority of their careers, imbecile.

Different animals, Buerhle was a lefty..workhorse.. Maddux threw 200 innings 18x.. this guy blew his load and gotten progressively worse each season.. like Kris Bryant.

I'm actually watching the David Kaplan podcast on YouTube right now , he's talking with Gordon Wittenmyer and Gordon said he is one of the all-time greatest Cubs pitchers. I never understood the love for Kyle, he hasn't had that many 15 or more winning seasons, but Gordon is a pretty half full type of reporter so the fact that he thinks that gives me pause.

Yeesh. You can't keep doing this with him.

Bring back Ben Brown and cut ties with Hendricks. No excuse to keep starting him when he can't even pitch against the Miami.

That was an incredibly stupid decision to put Brown in the pen to coddle the vet. He pitched an entire 4 innings. If they didn't want to hurt his feelings or pull the DFA trigger they should have at least put him on the IL with some BS so he can work it out in AZ and then with some rehab starts.

The Hendricks as royalty treatment by the Cubs even though he was mediocre (4 43 era) the previous 3 years.

The money the used to pick up Hendricks' option plus flipping Yancy Almonte could have been used to get Kenley Jansen from the Red Sox for a year, at a similar salary. The Red Sox were desperate to cut payroll this year because they know they can't finish in a playoff spot in the AL East.

There is no world where Hendricks and Almonte is better than Jansen and Brown.

The guy has had two tommy john surgeries and has never appeared in an MLB game.
