Glad they got this win. Krissy didn't even mean to hit it to right. Maybe his fragile psyche will start to recover now.

Cubs should feel pretty confidant about a playoff matchup against rich hill after this game

Rich Hill starts the Wild Card game for the Dodgers so the Cubs only see him one time in the NLDS.

3-1 Cubs, but good call, Hill does get the one win for the Dodgers.

Madden's Tuesday 1st game postgame presser he said he's not a big fan of guarding the lines, especially how Wilson was pitching him(implying ouside). The 9th inning hit past Bryant was an inside pitch(and the catcher setup inside). Madden is contradicting himself.

Les harped on the presser but isn't on the ball enough to examine the pitch placement.

As rangey and quick as Bryant is cheating towards the line he'd still get to a lot of balls to his left.

The first game loss is definitely a Joe loss. He's getting propped up by a bullpen full of bum castoffs who are pitching well a lot of the time for some reason this year.

Never boring with Joe.

Maybe whatever tightness he has in his back doesn't require a 10-day DL stint. Maybe he only needs another day or two off. If he has back tightness that might require another day or two off, why would you put him on the 10-day DL? That's not to say it ISN'T more serious than that and could eventually require a DL stint, but how would any of us know enough about the status of his back to know it is "stupid" not to put him on the DL? If he needs it that's what they will do.
Maybe his back was bad enough that they could have put him on the DL yesterday for a total eight days instead of putting him on the DL today for a total of seven days (since it would have been retroactive to Sunday).

I never claimed he WOULDN'T go on the DL as my post indicates. I just enjoyed your "insiders" viewpoint indicating how stupid the Cubs were before you even knew what the injury was, like they didn't know how the DL works. Good thing they read your posts and did the right thing today though. Looks like you out-smarted them all with your snap armchair diagnosis.

The Cubs are stupid for playing a double header minus their closer, whom they placed on the DL barely 12 hours after the nightcap ended.

How are they stupid for not playing with their closer? He was unavailable. They brought up another arm who was available for game 2.

You should be smarter than this mofo, and if you're not, then I'm sorry.

They originally thought Morrow could be back as soon as today or tomorrow. I'm not sure what Flapjacks is trying to argue here.

You have been repeatedly told why the Cubs didn't DL him earlier.

As for Morrow, he was hopeful this wouldn’t be a major thing as of yesterday, so the fact that he’s going on the disabled list now suggests he wasn’t feeling a ton better this morning.

I'm not sure, why you continue to refuse to grasp this.

Sounds like the Cubs just got screwed out of a run.

the cubs did well to get a first inning run off of stripling.... he's been pretty damn stingy this year.

The home run by Schwarber was crushed into the wind. Lester has been lucky today, just surviving, but he's a grinder. Hopefully Joe doesn't fuck this game with his bullpen management again.

just replayed the game and it seemed like a laid back time at wrigley today.

great defense all around.

Javi a one man highlight reel this season.
