I just love how people talk about Cubs/Sox fans like there is some genetic difference. It's just the team you root for. For the most part, you choose the team cuz that's the team your dad rooted for. That's the only reason you are a Cubs fan or a Sox fan.

It's so stupid to say "Well, Sox fans are..." or "Cubs fans are..."

It's just stupid.

After tonight, I dont have to think about the white sox and thats the way I like it, they dont matter to me, its not a insult, its just the way it is for me.

My experience is that Cubs fans have been extremely angry toward Sox fans since 2005. Attitude being that they have filled the park year after year, they deserved to get the World Series trophy before Sox fans.

Horseshit.

You either have a sample size of three Cubs fans, or you're just spouting errant nonsense.
The Sox got a ring in 2005. So be it. As a Cubs fan and baseball fan, I respect that and hope to live long enough to see the Cubs win the World Series.
To characterize Cubs fans as extremely angry towards Sox fans since 2005 is asinine. This Cubs fan is amazed at the Napoleonic complex of some Sox fans, but finds most fans of both sides to be civilized human being capable of social relations and nation building as per usual.

Extremely angry... ah, no. Bemused perhaps.

+1. I love these phrases. They are hilarious. "We all know Sox fans have little dicks and an inferiority complex." Just too funny.

I also love the new ignore feature. Its hilarious that I dont need to put up with Elmhurst Steve's BS and he still reads us making fun of him.

Cedeno is really worthless. Mark walks Blanco to load the bases, so what does he do, swings at the first pitch and hits a weak pop up. This guy really has no baseball smarts.

Damn Lou got tossed. Time for the Sox to throw some runs on the board this inning.

Joe Morgan is wrong (again) - Lou wasn't arguing "balls & strikes". He arguing the appeal of a checked swing - that does NOT warrant an automatic ejection. The plate ump is pathetic - "Hey look every body, I'm throwing someone out and taking charge of the game!!! Wait, nobody saw me do it the first time? Let me try again!" Loser........

Agree. The plate ump should of never tossed him. They said him and the 1st base ump are minor league umps, so I'm guessing he was trying to make a name for himself. That was a blown call by both of them. The plate ump should of been able to see that was a swing, hell it was almost a full swing, same with the 1st base ump. Then the plate ump missed a 3rd strike curve ball on Thome. So far, he has been real bad.

I third the notion the ump shouldnt have tossed him. Looked like he was a bit overzealous.

Alexei sure as hell brought his glove to work today. That dude is gonna win a few gold gloves I think.

Fucking Theriot. He should be benched after that base running play. Thats just not having your head in the game. How can a guy throw it to 1st, the first basemen fall on his ass, and then throw it back to 2nd, and you still get thrown out.

Maybe I missed it in another thread (if so, I apologeye), but anybody got info on this "mysterious" hand injury to Theriot? The Sun-Times is hinting that there may be a good story behind it.

Jesus Christ Peter Gammons. He's doing this long poem on the druggie for the Rangers and Quentin hits a homer that Miller couldn't call.

Say it quicker Peter!!!!

Any way. 19 homers for Quentin. Tied the Rangers ex drug guy for the AL lead ironically.

Further irony? They're both drug users!

ESPN showed he was safe clearly on that replay.

I thought he was safe when I saw the play live. Bad call. We'll take it.

WTF is going on w/ these umps tonight?

MLB bright idea #3,471: Schedule minor league umps for the high intensity, nationally televised game of the week. And why in the hell do umps need "vacation time" during a 6 month work year?

By the way, Joe Morgan would like another view of that last play? He "may still have been out".

Another jack, by Brian Anderson. Nice to see them give Buehrle some support and nice to see him in the middle of a 5th straight gem.

Buerhle's rollin' tonight. Good thing they're in an AL park, otherwise Ozzie would pull him in order to get a pinch hitter in the next inning.

These 2 umps have been horrible, pretty easy call on Cedeno. D-Lee looks like shit again tonight, after going 5 for 5 yesterday. He's having trouble catching up to a 87-89 mph fastball, thats real bad.

Buehrle is rolling now. But the Cubs had their chances in the first 3 innings to get him.

I just got in and see that Marshall has given up the 2 homers. How has he looked overall tonight? Any better than his last outing?

I think his stuff looks good. Quentin is gonna get a lot of guys. I think he got a little careless with Anderson.

Ok, DeRosa should have scored on that. These guys really need to start playing smarter. Holy shit, Cedeno actually gets a hit.

Joe Morgan is a complete fool. I dont think the biggest meatball Sox fan would even go as far as to say this is one of the best bullpens in recent history. It's a very good bullpen, lets leave it at that.

Hard to win when your top 4 hitters have only 1 hit. :?

I was going to say the same thing. Morgan continues to show he is an idiot. He should be removed from the booth asap.
