I feel bad for Cub fans here. Welcome to Sox world.

In 10 years you’ll be reminiscing about the time you signed a guy’s in-laws but not the actual guy.

It’s okay. I am sure (((Theo))) was really helping to guide Jed in this lack of signing. It’s certain that the Bernsie show in the coming week will find variance overcame the deal.

Cub fans are such sheep.

I am happy then didn't spend 700MIL! on a 30yr old. That is smart baseball.

I feel sorry for White Sox fans who have never signed a player for more then 75MIL!

Surely they will get Soto next year. How do you say no to Ivy and Gallagher Way?

First you get the in-law, THEN Gallagher Way works its magic

The subdivision is cranky because they are going to have the 2nd or 3rd worst record in baseball next year and they will be picking 10th

Yeah, one year of Shohei is only $5 mil less than the Sox biggest contract ever.

they better get rolling. would it be triumphant if they resigned stroman and bellinger? they'd be in the same spot they were in disastrous sept. - less candelario, who went to the reds.

mets are all in on yamamoto. media tells us that he wants the new york limelight. toronto and canada's lack of income tax scams for the 1%ers lost out on ohtani and they'll need to keep chapman.

so far, counsell must feel like he never left the brewers.

Think the Cubs will get one out of Montgomery, Glasnow, Bieber, or Imamura.

Is it going to be another year of you celebrating finishing 8th in their league?

It's one thing not to give a guy who's gonna be 30 70 million a year, but how the fuck are the Cubs not in on that 25 year old pitcher from Japan?

This poverty franchise bullshit is getting old, I bet Counsel regrets his decision.

Can we at least see what moves they make this offseason before you start your bitching?

Well the two biggest names have already moved (Soto, Ohtani) and they haven't been involved so what is there to see?

And them not getting Ohtani you were good with. So one move you have not agreed with. The offseason is still really early.

Doesn't sound like they are in on Bellinger or Yamamoto(who needs a 25 year old ACE in their prime) so it's looking like the 2024 team on paper will be pretty much worse than 2023 unless a prospect comes out of nowhere.

They need to sign Bellinger and or Yamamoto for me to be happy with this offseason.

My fear is Rickett's is turning into Jerry and now that he has his Wrigleyville Land theme park, he is done trying to win.

Yamamoto doesn't want to play in the Midwest. He wants to either be around a bunch of Asians in California, or in New York. Are you really suggesting that they should compete on salary with Steve Cohen? Or are you just being a disagreeable asshole because you don't know anything else?

The Cubs should always be in top 3 of payroll. Obviously you are good with them being a poverty franchise.

I thought I read that Yamamoto wanted to play with another Asian (Seiya) doesn't even seem like the Cubs are in the ballpark financially with him. Between Heyward's deal finally expiring and Stroman opting out they should have 50 million a year to play with so who know's what the fuck they are doing with the money

It would be disappointing if they, at best, just resign Bellinger. Are there free agents that the Cubs have been linked to? Chapman at 3B...any front-line starters? Rumors with TB have been in news. I think they will get aggressive and maybe make a move that wasn't on the radar. We'll see, long way to go.

That graphic basically means nothing right now. It is December. If pitchers and catchers report and it is still that way then you will have something.

I have to imagine they will sign someone...anyone...before the convention.

They are going to make significant moves. I don't see a realistic scenario where they enter next season with an upgraded roster. It's just getting harder to see who the most likely targets will be.

Scott Boras is trying to play off his three clients Bellinger, Chapman, and Hoskins against the Cubs, Blue Jays, and Giants. So everyone is going to move at whatever drawn out pace Boras insists on.
