A once universal symbol for ok may now be used as a white power symbol because people on an obscure online image board once dedicated to Manga started a joke about the symbol being white power.

If it's a joke does it really mean white power- or is it making a hand symbol obscene to laugh at people who don't know? It seems too stupid to take seriously.

Now that I think of it I have seen this symbol/gesture a long time ago sort of often. I went to HS with a good enough guy. We was a little too much into drugs and Jim Morrison but a good guy and we hung out some. Anyway one of his go to gestures was to do this upside down okay sign but differently.
