My buddy broke the same bone(s) in his hand last summer, and needed surgery to set them. If thats the case, Cubs could be without him for a while.

This should be good......which exact bone is it Frank? If your basing your diagnosis on the fact that your buddy broke the same bone, which bone, Dr. Coztansa? Please share your medical experise with us. Maybe you could write a song about it and play it at the bar in the Cell? Make sure you post the dates/times so we can be sure to not show up.

I will, and you be sure while you're not attending to eat another dick. I don't know what bones, he text me that they were the same ones as his last summer. You want his number so you can ask him yourself, cocksucker?

Post-game says 6 weeks. Not good, but there's no need to sweat.

Reed Johnson starts playing regularly at CF/LF and hits leadoff. He's the perfect guy for the job, contact hitter, base-stealer, multi-tooler. I think the Cubs will be okay, they just will lose that power at the top of the order is all. Defensively they improve ten-fold.

the cubs have proven depth, and they've already enjoyed success without soriano. while soriano's loss comes at a time when he's producing, i don't think it's going to affect the chemistry of the team which is so important and they seem to be clicking on all cylinders...it was great to see dempster pitch a complete game.

I won't need his number. He texted you, then you repeated it here, so it must be true. When your buddy's hand was broken, did you have to alter your social plans for the rest of that summer? Or is he ambidextrous?

They may improve defensively, but Johnson isn't a everyday leadoff man. Maybe go Theriot or Fukudome, and call up Michael H, since he will most likely be the DH this weekend.

I read some reports that Hoffpauir was being recalled already, so they're going to bring up another with him. Word on the street is that if Marshall can improve steadily enough, they'll bring him up to join the rotation.

Has anyone heard this CC Sabathia trade business?

According to peter Gammons, the Cubs are talking trade with Cleveland for Sabbathia, to The Phillies for Randy Wolf to K.C. about Gil Meche and to Toronto about A.J. Burnett. But I think its very possible that they may bring up Marshall for a couple starts to see what he can do in that spot, before making any deal. Sabbathia had an outstanding start his last time out and would be my favorite out of that group, but I would be happy with Wolf or Burnett too. I don't want Meche. He has been bad and he has an expensive contract with a few more years on it. Besides, the Cubs tried to sign him, about the same time they signed Lilly and he decided to go to K.C. for a few more dollars. Then the Cubs then turned to Marquis, after Meche spurned their offer. If a guy signs with a team like K.C. just to get every last dollar, even though he should know the Royals won't be contending, I think it shows that its all about money with this guy and not winning. K.C. can keep him and the bad contract.

Why would the Phillies trade a pitcher while leading their division?

RFDC-I was wondering the same thing when he said it. But thats what Gammons claims. In any case, I doubt any deal will take place until we are much closer to the trade deadline, if at all.

Just as an FYI, I had an EXACT injury to Soriano's once. A minimally displaced fracture of the 4th metacarpal, which I've been calling a Boxers fracture since it happened (as I broke it punching a wall at Service Merchandise). I was in a cast for 4 weeks, in PT for 3 and then I was fine, although my pinkie on my right is a little misalligned compared to the other side.
He will need PT. They'll likely demobilize his wrist, which will need to be built back up in 4 weeks or so when they take off the cast.

If I recall correctly Randy Wolfe pitches for the Padres, not Philly anymore, though he was there for several years. Just checked, and he is indeed a Padre. Randy Wolfe

I bought my CD player there actually. There used to be one in Oak Lawn, along with a Builder's Square.

Is there any way to get those X-Ray records? It happened back in 1994... I think. I know it happened the week they closed the store in Schaumburg, and I know that happened the same week they went after OJ and his Elway (slow moving white Bronco). I went to that Northwestern Hospital in Schaumburg on roselle rd and Weathersfield....
Is it possible to get copies of those X-rays???
At SM, I was a warehouse Expediter. Horrid job. I was the poor schmuck that had to put the purchases on the belt. Man that was a shitty job. No AC in the warehouse.

I do believe that RW will back me on that. Seeing as how she was there and all, back then.

Dark-since it was reported that Soriano has a NON-displaced fracture of the 4th metacarpal, and you say you had a MINIMALLY displaced fracture, that has the pinky of your right hand STILL slightly misaligned, how is it the EXACT same injury? If Soriano has NO displacement, it really is not exactly the same injury. I understand that you and Soriano fractured the same bone in your hands,(even if his was the left and yours, the right) but saying it's the exact same injury, is not quite accurate. For Soriano's sake as well as the Cubs sake, I sure hope he wouldn't have a misaligned finger afterwards. Though I doubt the Cubs would allow anything like that to happen, if they can prevent it. When you invest 136 million on a player, you are not going to allow that investment to remain damaged, if you can help it. Sounds like your doctor didn't do such a great job, if the pinky is misaligned. Not the brightest idea, punching a wall. Did that happen in 2003, when Alex Gonzalez blew the double play grounder, after the Bartman foul ball?

From today's Trib:
Quote:
X-rays taken of Soriano's hand at Northwestern Memorial Hospital revealed a minimally displaced fracture of the left fourth metacarpal, which is located under the fourth finger on his left hand.

From the Sun Times:
Quote:
According to team officials, X-rays revealed a ''minimally displaced fracture of the fourth metacarpal'' -- the bone that extends from the base of the pinkie finger into the hand. He's expected to be in a splint for three weeks and have his longer-term status evaluated at that time

You're an idiot Elmhurst

No, ass. Read my post for a detailed account of when it happened.
You're not too good at the whole reading comprehension thing are you?
At first I thought you were just an idiot Chicago meatball. And you've done little to change my opinion.

Doubtful. In college, I dislocated my pinky finger playing football. It was sticking straight out of the side of my hand. It was pretty cool looking (and really painful).

About four years later, I thought it'd be cool to have a copy of the x-ray. I was told they only keep x-rays (except in certain cases) for 3 years.

Last night they reported on the broadcast, that it was a non-displaced fracture. I guess that original diagnosis was not correct. I did read the Sun Times at lunch and indeed that is what the paper indicates. Too bad you couldnt get better medical attention, and have a misaligned hand though. Where the hell did you go, to the free clinic? I guess someone who had a shitty warehouse job can't get the best medical care though. Should have had a better plan, as Mac would say.

They must print a special copy of the Sun Times in crayon so you can read it.

That's it? thats your big post? In a battle of wit's, you are unarmed. So come back, when you are ready to Bring It, ya panty wearin Jabronee. Until then, why dont you take that plastic replica you have of the 2005 Championship trophy the Sox won, Take it down off it's shelf, dust it off, shine it up, turn it sideways and stick it straight up your candy-ass! Now, know your role, and shut your mouth.

Plastic was not around the last time the Cub won a World Series. Though, I am quite certain you will find, and enjoy, many other things to shove up your ass. That is, once you remove your head from it.
