Sure. You can battle a pitcher, foul off 3 or 4 pitches, and then get beat with a really good breaking pitch or a well located fastball. There's sometimes Fukudome goes up there, takes 3 terrible swings, and thats that. Thornton made him look absolutely silly last Saturday.

In all fairness, Funky Fukudome wasn't the only one Thornton made look silly last Saturday.

They should trade him and Eric Patterson to Cleveland for CC Sabathia, Grady Sizemore and Cliff Lee.

Then clearly you have missed at least 2 innings. You obviously did not see Thornton pitching last weekend, and when Sherril of the O's sat him down rather easily.

Either take your tongue out of your cheek or your head out of your ass.
I'll go with the latter.

Reason, pretty sure he was reffering to the "Championship" thread in which Meatball Vince had Sabathia, Sizemore, and Brian Roberts all coming to the Cubs for guys like Cedeno, Hoffpauer, Murton, Hill, etc.

Franklin, that might very well be true.

However, I am standing by my assessment.

Nope, I saw both of those, and neither one did he have 3 straight bad swings and sit down. Stick to the Southside Frank and do us all a favor.

So much for those fuckin shadows.

Nice call on that checked swing on Molina :x , Larussa can shut his piehole now.

I knew that the Cubs were done when Fox decided to give the player of the game to Ramirez when Ankiel was still batting. Of course he drives in the go ahead runs and has 3 RBI total and was the player of the game.

Well said, Zach. The Cub will be lucky to win another game before the All-star break.
I hate the fucking Cards. Them and their fucking red-faced, creepy, teddy bear shrine making fans. Just a bunch of gap-toothed dopes.

And another thing, go fuck yourself, you chubby, little, blue bug driving, bastard.

EDIT: I am surrounded by the country cocksuckers down here. The only thing I hate more than a Cardinal fan, is two Cardinal fans.
The sorry-ass mother fuckers don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. If they win tomorrow, they will start chirping like the fucking fowl that they are, sumbitchin' asshats. Goddammit.

It looked like Wood was tired today. He has been 95+ on the radar gun lately , and today he was around 91-94.

Oh, don't take it personally, Jared.
You just happened to be the first Cardinal fan that came to mind when I needed to take out my blown save angst, just harmless fun.
You have thick skin or at least a lot of it. So you will be OK.

After "one of the most-important wins of the season", does that mean that this was one of the most important losses.

You can have one without the other. But in this case, the answer is no to both.
Wins are important and loses blow. It's not rocket surgery.

My argument is not that Fuku is a bad hitter. I freely admit the that Cub would not be where they are today without the likes of Fukudome. But there are times he clearly looks overmatched at the plate, and I know its hard for you to admit that a Sox fan has proven you wrong but it really is ok. In this instance I am right and you are wrong. You clearly have missed at least 2 instances in which Fukudome has looked awful at the plate.

With Fukudome, much like the rest of the cubs team, the proof lies in the stats. The guy is barely hitting .200 on the road, and is scorching around .330 at home. Something about being on the road really just drags this team down.

Frank, once again you are trying to change your point in the middle of the deal. That was not your point to start out with.

Anyways, I am in too good of a mood today to mess with your ignorant ass. I don't think I have to prove to anyone around here that you are clueless at times, especially when it comes to the Cubs. Stick to the Sox and stop making clueless posts about the Cubs.

Lou going with the run producing outfield of Murton, Johnson, and DeRosa today, with Fontenot playing 2nd. Wish I would of known this before I took the over.

How's the over looking now? :D Though if you're still not there, you have to blame Marshall.

EDIT hey, maybe Marmol will help you.

Nice win today for the Cubs and great to take this series from the Cards.

Good to see the offense clicking a little better and another good outing for Marmol.

Keep it going at home against the Reds.

As a Sox fan who loves to joust with North Siders, Frank cease and desist.
You criticize posters like Elmhurst Steve, but then you turn around and do the exact same thing.

I would hardly equate Frank to Elmhurst Steve in this instance...while you may think he's full of crap, I don't think Frank's sole purpose in the post was to piss of the Cub nation...

Frank's harmless, in a chubby little way.
I do, however, find it humorous that Sox fans put Elmhurst-Steve on their "foe" list. I can't help but laugh every time I think about the dreaded "foe" list.
Oh no, I'm now a "foe". What shall I do?
Sorry, but you're my "foe", my sworn enemy. Your time is gonna come.
I had a neighborhood "foe", when I was 10, funny stuff.
You say it enough, it kinda loses it's meaning. Foe, foe, foe, foe, foe, foe, foe, foe......foeitty foe, horrible foe.....foe, foe, foe, foe...Elmhurst-Steve's my foe......
See what I mean.

I take it as a compliment. Apparently they are too weak minded to deal with the criticism I bring concerning their team. Its like a little girl, sticking her fingers in her ears and yelling "I can't hear you, La, La, La" Besides, its basically just 1 guy-FarveFag, who keeps trying to get others to use the foe's thing. But who's going to listen to a Packer burrito anyway? The guys just got no stones.

Both Steve and Frank seemed to be more interested in stoking the fire rather than making a point. The facts seem to get in the way of their posts -- in more than one case.
