I'm impressed with Samardzija. He was so bad they moved him to the bullpen in A ball and since then he's really gotten it going. He's actually striking guys out now, something he wasn't doing before. That being said I don't think they should be bringing him up, but we'll see what they do with him.

What is bad is the lack of hitting with runners in scoring position.

The kid looked really good that last inning.

He is going to be just fine.

Marmol threw 38 pitches last night. Why bring him back today?

Howry should be let go, the guy has one pitch and thats a 92mph fastball and MLB hitters are capable of smacking that ball out of the park.

On the bright side, at least DP-Lee hasnt hit in a DP today, thats a start.

Lou has a short leash with some relievers, Cotts, Eyre (why activate if your not going to use him) but he keeps going back to Howry even though he has shown nothing recently.

This is quickly becoming a horrible disaster! Poor hitting again! An unreliable bullpen! Lazy defense! I'm telling you, people, the genie is out of the bottle with this team! You can see it with every passing game! The air has been let out of the balloon, and we have seen the best of this team! Lee needs to be moved in the lineup! Fukudome has totally lost it! Howry needs to be immediately released! Samardzija needs to go down immediately! He cost the team today, and clearly isnt ready for the big-time! Wood doesnt have a blister! It is his rotator cuff! Ramirez needs to be sat down! You can sense the urgency with every passing game! Desperation has set in! They MUST win tomorrow, another loss would be a calamity! Milwaukee may never lose again! They have CC Sabathia! He NEVER loses! Dark days ahead, I tell you! Very dark indeed!

Panic! Panic! Panic!

What are you talking about? Semardizija didn't cost the team today. 2 innings, one run, 2 strikeouts isn't costing the team.

Take a look at Soriano: 1 for 5, thrown out at home and 2 left on base with 2 outs. Lee: 1 for 5, Ramirez: 0 for 4, Fukudome: 0 for 4, 2 left on base with 2 outs.

Howry: 1 inning pitched, one run, no strikeouts.

How the hell did Semardizija cost the team when Soriano, Lee, Ramirez and Fukudome go 2 for 18 for the day?

Howry is really bad. I don't think he has had a scoreless inning since the break. The kid looked good on the mound, just needs to work on his other pitches, lots of movement on the fastball. I think this team will be fine, just need to start hitting, and maybe pick up another reliever.

i was really impressed with Jeff Samardzija today. As one that followed his football career in H.S., I'm SO excited for the kid. :drunken:

I have no idea whether someone is claiming to be me while using another screen name, but I have never seen any reason to use anything but the original. I have not posted for a while and will not be posting much for a while to come. Business is very busy and Softball season is quickly approaching the playoff season, so I am pretty busy. I know nothing about this Poster of the year stuff, but feel certain that I will never be given any such title, with all the stuff I stir up. But any such title carries no value in my eyes anyway.

Actually, he DID ground into a double play ball...Cantu almost threw the ball away, though. He TRIED to hit into another DP.

Steve's post carry no value in my eyes.
BTW, stop with the excuses Steve. You haven't posted because the North Siders have been struggling. It's kind of hard to talk about ending the wait when the Brewers seem poised to take over first place in the division.

In fairness to Steve, he did say very clearly on several occasions that after the Cubs/Sox series he was going to not be posting on here very much.

Only negative with Harden is he throws alot of pitches. He strikes out alot of batters, but also walks a few. Be nice for him to go 7 innings.

2 in a row! This is a very bad premonition! Good pitching, bad hitting! Fukodome is bad, he needs to be removed from the lineup! Marshall should never have started that 8th inning! Harden throws too many pitches, he relies on strikeouts too much! Derrek Lee needs to be moved down in the lineup, if not, benched! He is killing the Cubs! Theriot needs to start pulling the ball to keep them honest, he can go opposite field every at bat! The Brewers are charging, and the Cubs don't have an answer! People, it is July 26, we need to WIN these games! Where is the urgency?! Every game from this point on must have game 7 intensity! Chad Gaudin go back to Oakland! Soriano looks bad, very bad! This does not bode well! The magic is gone from Wrigley Field! Piniella needs to make some moves! Fast! The season is draining away a game at a time!

Panic! Panic! Panic!
