OK, boss man

Again, with the all or nothing thing

Its one of the greatest games ever. Sorry that's not drastic enough for you
You use the "all of nothing" thing wrong a lot.

I laughed at it being called the greatest game ever and gave my reasons why it wasn't.

Make an argument that it was the greatest game ever or stop arguing with me that I was wrong to do so.

It's not "all or nothing". It's "say something".

The amount of people in this thread that want to change the discussion is crazy.

The Cubs hadn't won a WS for 108 years. The Indians hadn't won one for however many years. It was game 7 of the World Series. The Cubs jumped out to what looked like an insurmountable lead. The Indians clawed back and tied it in the 8th. There was a rain delay that increased anxiety for both teams. The Cubs came back out and immediately scored 2 more. The Indians came back and scored one on with a man out when the final out was recorded. There was suspense, drama, storylines, and again, it was game 7 of the World Series. You may not think it's "the greatest", but I think you'd be hard-pressed to argue that it wasn't "one of the greatest."

Agree to disagree.

You really, in all sincerity, no trolling or BS, don't think it is one of the greatest or at least most memorable games ever?

As a game it was not. As a story it was.

Well, I think people are using both measures. I don't think anyone said "this was the most cleanly played game of all-time." When they say "greatest", they're including off-the-field stuff. Which goes back to my point that bagels also stated and tried to take credit for - it's a subjective term with no parameters. I do, however, think your Cub hatred is skewing your view.

'The Greatest Game Ever Played' was Francis Ouimet against Harry Vardon in the 1913 US Open.

We're talking greatest sports games ever played. Cricket doesn't count.

So as far as the DVD, do you get the set with complete games or just the highlights version?

So far just the shirts have been purchased in the Scorpio household. I'm sure a cap/sweatshirt/winter hat will all be purchased soon.

Its sort of sad, I always said the only time I'll get a subscription to SI is after the Cubs or Bears win the title and they do that commercial where they offer you the 12 months plus a free coaster and the commemorative DVD. Did they stop doing that?? I never saw it.

While watching the 10th inning again today something struck me as odd.

Zobrist up with Almora on 2nd and Rizzo on 1st. They attacked Zobrist outside the entire at bat and the hit he got was on an outside pitch that he took down the 3rd base line.

Why in the world was Ramirez playing so far off the line in that situation? Don't you guard the lines late in the game, but especially if you are going to pound a guy on the outside corner?

Another reason it wasn't great!

I noticed that too. They threw inside the pitch before and it screamed that they were going to go back outside for the next pitch. Zobrist knew it was coming too...

- They're replaying all the postseason victories (shortened to 2 hours per game) on MLB network today

- Here's the cover the New York Times was going to run had the Cubs lost ... which, if you think about it, is pretty dark insofar as should the Indians have won they still wouldn't have been front page news:

BREAKING NEWS: Chicago Cubs are being forced to give up their World Series title.

Cleveland Indians fans have rioted across the country in protest of the 2016 World Series. Despite knowing the rules of the game prior to playing, they were unhappy they lost and demanded the outcome to be changed.

They could be heard chanting #NotOurWorldSeriesChampion all across America. Even though the Cubs won 4 games and the Indians only won 3, since both teams scored 27 total runs throughout all 7 games, they are being declared co-world champions.

When questioned, Commissioner Manfred stated, "We felt as though it was the right thing to do for the nation. What kind of example would Major League Baseball be setting if we expected the adults who play this game, and their fans, to gracefully accept defeat? Instead of creating a bigger divide between the Cubs and Indians, MLB is confident that the Cubs will gladly share their victory with the Indians

There's a whole lot of people who would pass that around as serious news.
