If you can't do better than this, it's gonna be a boring year.

Our murderer conversation got me thinking... Matheny seems more like a run-of-the-mill psychopath. Killing in and of itself probably quenches his thirdt for blood. Lackey is probably more deliberate about it and enjoys the experience.

Sounds about right.

Any thoughts on what Zack Greinke gets up to in his spare time?

I wouldn't go as far as murderer woth Grienke. If I had to guess, he probably did some weird shit like going to prom with a 16-year-old when he was 20. Probably also went through a privately talked about drug phase in which he joined a weak local militia and got a "Live free or die" tattoo before his family had an intervention. Definitely killed some cats in sick ways, too, but no murdering of humans, IMO.

Nicely done.

Jake vs the burned out husk that is Wainwright tonight . Expect 100 pitches through 5 for Jake. Score runs. That is all.

Monterey catching Jake ?
Edit: Nope, it's Contreras. This could be ugly.

Yeah, and that is not a position where players tend to age well. Easy to question that decision. He looked real good in the WBC and won't be surprised if he has a good 2017, but I won't be at all surprised if he breaks down well before that contract ends.

probably because Maddon is giving in to Lackey's ego and wants to split up the lefties rather than having Anderson 5th and then Lester following him with the top of the rotation. Plus, he knows Hendricks is a guy who will accept it and probably prosper again in that spot. Not really a big deal after the first time through the rotation anyway.

Well aware. Not a fan of the ones that are dyed blue or any unnatural color though.

Honestly, I feel like this is a big game. NOT a must win game, so hold your shit together before you judge me like your some fan with a brighter and better perspective than me.

If you asked me in the off-season what my biggest fears are it would go like this...

1) The Cards would start off hot and the Cubs cold and we will have to chase them all year.

2) My dog dying

3) Hawks don't make the playoffs (aka Kane gets hurt)

4) My gf dying

Gotta snuff these fucks out and remind them quickly that this is OUR division.

Oh, and fuck Dexter Fowler. If you don't hate him already then you're a beta Cubs fan. I don't know what to tell you.

Kyle Fowler with an 8 pitch lead off walk. Love it. Gay, how can you fault Fowler for where he signed ?

I'm deeply concerned about the ambient temperature in the locker room for this 102 win team.

He's a fraud. Sign with your team's arch rival right after the World Series. Sitting there smiling in the red and white like nothing happened. Fuck him. Have some respect for the game. It"s not like they were the only team interested.

If the Cubs had any sack they would've re-signed Fowler and told JHey to find a spot on the bench for his 180 million.

I can see those mechanical changes really paying off for Heyward. Now he pops up foul to both 1st and 3rd base.

Listen, I get it. You want his defense in the lineup. Bat him 8th or 9th at least!

This. Do we really have to pretend that he's an average hitter? He knows he sucks too.
