Yeah,I filled that out when I first joined. You are right. A lot of crappy pizza out there.

Cub fans and SJW left, they love to cannibalize their own. Pretty sad.

Is it OK to chuckle at the pancake jokes AND the Bill Dance gifs? I think Frankie Flapjacks is solid and Bill Dance is the best.

Ricketts holds right of first refusal on rings at a buck. A gift that isn't really given. #That'sCub

So you have to sign a contract agreeing to insure the ring, report it as income, and you can only sell it to the Cubs for a dollar. I'd tell them to shove the ring up their ass.

#FakeNews...sort of.

This policy does not apply to players or coaches.

So what? They're the guys that can actually afford the insurance and taking a ring as income. I feel bad for the decrepit old ushers and the secretaries. Thanks Ricketts!

Also, that "it doesn't apply to players" thing was made up on the fly because of all the heat they were taking and many players refusing to sign the contract. It was a PR disaster. #That'sCub

I can understand making someone do that for X number of years after receiving the ring to prevent them just instantly flipping it, but does this agreement last forever?

I mentioned this in the other thread, but I wonder if this $1 ROFR is a way to relieve the recipients from paying income tax on their gift (or cheat the government out of taxes, depending on your point of view). If I'm given something that, by contract, has no monetary value, can I justify omitting it from my tax return?

Kind of reminds me how the Cubs set up their "legal" ticket scalping service to avoid paying MLB their fair share of revenue.

Or just say you gave it to your wife. Then she sells it

Great "gift" huh ? Billionaires worried that 40k a year schlub might make a little cash selling their "gift" so they put a bunch of conditions on it but our generational wealth ballplayers are free to do what they want with it. Are we sure Sam Zell still isn't the owner ?

Add Glenn Beckert, Jose Cardenal, Jody Davis, Randy Hundley, Lee Smith, Bob Derneir, Steve Trout and Scott Sanderson to the list.

Will Sutcliffe, Dunston, Grace, Wood and Sosa be next?
