Can we end this schwarber leadoff bullshit already? He has drawn a few walks and been utterly terrible thus far. Idk who you put up there but this is getting ridiculous. He is garbage defensively so you might as well start mixing jay in more and batting him first.

They don't have a prototypical leadoff hitter. I say bat the pitcher first.

velocity really means nothing for a pitcher like Hendricks. It is all about spots. If he is hitting spots he is fine. If he is missing he is going to get hit hard.

That's silly to say velocity means nothing. There is a big difference between throwing mid 80's and high 80's low 90's like he was last year. It also factors into difference between his FB and offspead stuff.

Hmmmm. If you are the road team you could bat a bench guy first as the pitcher and then remove him for the actual pitcher.

I might consider dropping him and see if that can get his bat going . He's not even hitting the ball hard with his outs at this point.

It doesn't mean nothing, but for a guy like Hendricks is it not the most important thing. He is not beating anyone with velocity.

It is all about location for him. If he locates a mid 80s fastball he is going to be fine, the same as if he locates a high 80s fastball like last year.

Fuck man....you are virtually an automatic out. I have zero tolerance for your awful hitting when you are already a pretty bad fielder. Heyward was such a good fielder you could absorb it.

Velocity is important for him. He has to be a good 10 mph above his change to work effectively. When they get too close to the same speed he gets mashed.

No ... once you eliminate the DH in favor of a pitcher batting, regardless of whether or not he really is a pitcher, you can't have a DH the rest of the game.

The Velocity doesn't matter narrative irritates the shit out of me...I heard it all the time with Maddux, but people don't realize Maddux easily sat 91-93 in his prime.

I'm talking an nl game. You start szczur as your pitcher and bat him leadoff and then replace him after the ab for the actual pitcher.

I put it on mute. I hate this bobble head Caller Bob who is as bad as JDC and this whole crew. My wife took my good radio to work so now I just listen to the washer and dryer. Kind of soothing actually at least I do not want to kill something. :)

She might be married with kids, but during that interview she really wanted Russell to fuck the hell out of her.

Look who led off the inning with another strikeout.

It does not really matter to me who leads off, but it may be time to switch things up. Move him down in the order. See if he starts hitting there. Zobrist...Almora...or Jay can lead off. Hell if Heyward keeps hitting put him there.

This would've been a good time for a night off . Don't know why he didn't rest him against a tough lefty.

I have been thinking just put Almora at leadoff for a week or so and mix in Jay. Zob perhaps but I want him down in order if possible. But what the fuck do I know. They will figure it out soon or they better.

I'm fine with Joe seeing what he can do on a national game rather than waiting until he's "forced" to find out. They're going back to NL format tomorrow anyway so that's an entirely better time to 'rest' him, I would say.

Hendricks velocity has not changed much tonight, but his location has been pretty darn good with the exception of that miss to Hanley....

Why not give him a two day so called mental break to observe and chill a bit. Screw the AL/NL shit the schedule is what it is. A break is needed from time to time especially for a young player putting pressure on himself.
