I'm shocked there were that many at that time, honestly. I fell asleep with the TV on and woke up at 1:15 thinking I was dreaming that the Cubs were still playing.

In my dream last night, I dreamed they won that game in extra innings, then assumed that was the case as I took a shower and got ready for work, then I checked the score to see they lost in 18. Fucking christ that is the worst way to go.

Uncoordinated douche.

And I don't mean good dolphin.

Well actually, I do.

But Schwarber, too.

Cubs fans have jobs they need to get to the next day. If it were a Sox game, they would be lucky to sell tickets for as many seats as Cubs fans were still using at 1:15am. The Cubs sold over 43,000 for yesterday night's game. Hell, that's a good series for the Sox.

That has happened to me before with the Cubs, Hawks and Bears several times.

In 2006 leading up to the Superbowl I dreamed nearly every night that the Bears either won or loss and it felt so real. Those two weeks were hell.

Schwarber made a nice play. But the only time he will touch a gold glove is when Rizzo, Heyward or Almora show him theirs. But hopefully, he rises to the level of an average outfielder. I think he can do that. He's getting there. Gotta start hitting more though.

I haven't seen him drop a ball in at least a week, too. Solid showing.

He's not a horrible outfielder. I would call him a few tics below average as far as running down balls. But he's got a good arm as we've seen this week.

No. He's not gonna make the spectacular plays. But he's decent.

So all of this crying that he can't be a left fielder in the NL is bullshit.

He has to hit, though. That's the bigger problem.

Granted, he's young. In 5 or 6 years you'll have to get him out of left field. He'll have to be a 1st baseman or DH at that point.

But he's fine for now

He made a very nice play gunning down the runner at the plate tonight against the Reds, and kept a 1-run first inning from escalating to 2, 3, 4 runs.

can we all agree he's better than Adam Dunn and Glenallen Hill, at least?

Is Hill on the juice or not?

Otherwise, it's gotta be the shoes.

I'll take that into account on your future baseball thoughts...

The fact that he's not already in the Gold Glove conversation, based on his rocket arm alone, is a tragedy and a symptom of the fact that the Cubs get nothing but negative coverage.
