The Cubs are struggling. He generally stays quiet when they do poorly and the Sox are winning or doing decent. If the Sox really start scuffling and/or the Cubs beat up on the Reds again next week, he will be back.

Great. They're a shitshow who can't beat a good team nor pitch well enough to win playoff series if they scam a wildcard somehow but lets give them another month of playing .500 before we declare them mediocre .

it is early, until the bottom of the 5th, of the the 81st game. Cubs will need to win their division to get in to the playoff's. The NL Central is a shit-show so far.

It is getting annoying to see so many runners left on base. They were gifted tons of walks on Monday and didn't turn those into runs. It seems like Addy can barely throw to first without the ball hitting the dirt. Our starters keep finding ways to disappoint. Heyward's looked better than I thought possible and Baez has been ok. But the rest of the hitters are below my expectations.

No panic for me. Just a lot of disappointment that my investment in watching games hasn't produced much enjoyment.

We have been pretty spoiled here with 1st basemen over the last ~15 years. Konerko (especially pre 2010) and Rizzo have saved MANY errors from the left side of the infield over their years.
