Seems to be a lot of skepticism from Cub fans and the Subdivision. I got them at 91-71. It's May 23rd. Where do you have them finishing?

Since they have to outhit 3/5 of their starting rotation I'll say 89 and thats probably pushing it.

They have to play .579 ball to get 91 wins
They have to play .563 ball to get to 89 wins.

I do not think the Cubs have that in them this season. I think the best the Cubs might be able to do is play at a ~.530 clip (63-56) for the rest of the season, which puts them at 85 or 86 wins.

Maybe $100 was too rich. Let's talk. What kind of U.S. tender are you willing to put down?

He won't put anything down. He loves to make statements like that and then ignore or laugh off any thing that is said in return.

If you are so confident in the Cubs, why don't you two find a bookie or one of the MANY online gambling sites and put some of your own cash down? Post a picture of the betting slip here. Seems pretty simple to me.

I am entitled to my own opinion, which I have stated above. Putting money behind it makes my opinion no more or less valid.

90 and that will win the NL Central when the chumps settle down. Cubs will win 23 of 30 at some point and win the division by at least 5 games. But that last two weeks is a bad deal for them if they are not playing well and really need every one of them.

Yeah, but the Cubs recorded the last out of the World Series and you were sitting there like "well, hmm, according to my totally objective calculations, it would be very hard for them to come back from this."

He doesn't have the balls to back his prediction. Shocking

For the record, what is the bet being offered?

The original bet was I take Cubs at 90 or more wins to end the season. Frank would have 89 and under.

Guys, do you think wagering is such a good idea? Especially with so many members of "The Subdivision" trying to manage their "Cubbie on the Brain" symptoms?

That's an interesting bet. The 2017 Cubs basically seem to be the 2006 White Sox.

That is not correct at all. The 2006 Sox came out of the gate very strong. They were something like 51-39 right before the AS break. Then they got swept (I want to say by the Red Sox or A's) going into the break, and their pitching shit the bed after that. They finished July just a few games over .500 and never recovered.

Outside of playing the Reds, the 2017 Cubs have been a mediocre team at the very best.

They'll be around .500. But that doesn't really matter, the damage has been done.

I don't even know how to place a bet outside of Vegas. Are you trying to state that bets between two individuals are somehow less valid? Because I offered you the bet ... and you didn't take it ... and I couldn't find anyone else to take it, it means I truly didn't believe what I said about 90 wins?

You're a treasure, Frank!

The real story here is that FF looks to be dead on. At worst, he is three games off.
