It's not a win. It's a fair trade for both teams. But you didn't need those prospects. Cubs hitters are set for the next 3 or 4 years. And nobody is declaring it a win because of this start. He's 28 years old and has been a top 10 pitcher for 4 years. No reason to not expect the same with the Cubs when he's that young. He'll have better numbers in the national league.

Obviously, one game isn't enough to draw any conclusions. Still, it was nice to see him pitch a good game. It's okay to cheer for your team.

Of course you were trying to shit on Cub fan excitement over the game today. Most were just pumped to see Quintana pitch well. Re-read this thread, and I promise you you'll find maybe one or two statements that make proclamations about the trade. Most are just saying Quintana looks good or getting mildly excited about them playing well today. That's called cheering for a team, and there's nothing wrong with it. Today, Jose Quintana was one of the top pitchers in baseball and the Cubs dominated.

I think you might want to reread the thread, actually. The very few Sox fan replies were in response to posts that directly mentioned the Sox. Other than that, nobody criticized anyone for cheering. relax, man. Your team did great today. No need to obsess over us Sox fans.

If you truly subscribe to the idea that pitcher wins matter and that the difference between two major league lineups is so minuscule that the pitcher's opponent is basically irrelevant, then you can't also argue that the Orioles' lineup is "bums". If you disagree with this, you should take it up with your fellow Sox fan Win-denier.
