that's what my dad texted me last night when we talked about it. This is one where champions show their spots, not their Achilles heel.

Kind of crossing threads here, but a Championship pitcher doesn't give up 4 runs in the first.

What the hell was Cone-treras doing bunting in the 9th.

I don't think it is the same thing. I agree with the idea that was a game championship teams find a way to win.

But every "championship pitcher" that has ever existed has given up 4 runs in the first inning at times. Hell look at Lester giving up 10 runs in the first awhile back.

In that situation-- rubber match of a home series against a playoff team-- a Championship pitcher doesn't give up 3-4 runs in the first inning. Especially after a rain delay.

Especially when that game falls on a Thursday and the opposing team is wearing red jerseys.

I mean, in that situation, obviously just a huge no-no...

Like I've said and most cub fans have stated, Quintana is a nice #3. I don't know why you Sox fans keep comparing him to an ace.

That's just silly.

In fact, I'm tired of all you whiny-beta Cub fans crying all the time. Just tired of it. The Subdvision, I get it, it's all part of the "game", but I expect better from Cub fans. Just tired of the negativity and shit.

They known what they are doing. They just have to get in the playoffs and then it's "GO" time.

This BP has been the best thing about this club all season. This game was more the exception than the rule. It just bothered me the Cubs let a relief pitcher who looked washed up 5 years ago beat them.

6 RBI game, 2 Home Runs. Chance to tie it with your 3rd home run of the game and you attempt to bunt twice.

I couldn't sleep last night.

Chapman is way better than anyone the Cubs had in that pen last year...and this year.

What worries me about the bullpen besides Grimm and Duensing, or Koji's 85mph fastballs with spotty location, or Edwards falling apart after not getting a few strike calls, or not knowing which version of Rondon or Strop we are getting is the Cubs bullpen ranks 4th in the MLB in BB, and 9th in the MLB in IP. Those two stats could destroy this team come playoff time if they don't correct them.

I think Chapman and Davis is a wash. Both are top tier closers.

The rest of the bullpen is pretty much identical.
