After the WS, Kyle's trade value was as high as ever. I don't remember reading Sale for Schwarber, but Jed Epstein could have landed a big haul for him back then. Hindsight and all that.

I dont think it would have been a big concern since his value is like 99% in his bat and the bat looked great in the WS.

Of course, that was only 4 games

Rick, it was four games. You do realize that if a hitter hit a home run every 4 games, he'd have 40 homers, right? And he was coming off a huge injury.

This isn't a defense of Schwarber. It's just a defense of sample size. Schwarber is performing at a similar level to his entire regular season career, and it's not good. But his WS performance was not at all a predictor of his future performance.
