Seeing as the B-team eliminated won last night, I imagine they'll do much of the heavy lifting in this otherwise pointless series, and will do so behind Q, Lester, & Arrieta.

Today's wacky lineup includes four catchers:

1. Jon Jay (L) CF
2. Ben Zobrist (S) RF
3. Tommy La Stella (L) 2B
4. Willson Contreras (R) C
5. Kyle Schwarber (L) LF
6. Ian Happ (S) 3B
7. Alex Avila (L) 1B
8. Mike Freeman (L) SS
9. Jose Quintana (R) P

I kinda want the Cubs b+ team to put up 6 or more in an inning just to piss brennamen off one more time.

Thanks to his accidental infield single yesterday, Schwarber is in no danger of falling to below the Mendoza line this year (.202 would be the worst he could do if he went hitless the rest of the way). So I imagine Maddon will have him play all three games in the hopes of him hitting HR #30.

I'm okay with that.

I'm really happy for Taylor Davis. Kid was a UDFA, slogged through seven years in the minors, and will be cut from the 40 man after the World Series to protect kids for the Rule 5 draft. Getting a chance to play for the big league team, and then driving in the run to knock St. Louis out of the playoffs, and getting to be in the clubhouse the rest of the way.

I won't be surprised at all if Joe has him on the field at the end of the game on Sunday if the Cubs are winning.

Happ has had a great year.

I liked when he first came up he never smiled or showed emotion. you know he was going crazy inside but just didnt want to show it.

Does anybody know if kids can go into Yak-Zies before a game? I know they can’t go into like a Cubby Bear but figured this is more of a restaurant.

Yeah dude. Daygames at Wrigley, NFL games on Monday night, and Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday this year.

Len Kasper is such a douchebag. He just said the following: "One way to look at it is the Nationals may be the toughest opponent in the NL playoffs the Cubs will face, so if you win a best-of-5 series, you've got to feel realllyyy good about your chances to get back to the World Series."

Fuck you, Len. The Dodgers are +350 to win the WS, the Nats are +850. The Cubs may very well make it back to the WS, but you--like Maddon--don't have to be such a smarmy asshole.

That doesnt seem like that crazy a thing to say if the discussion was "The Nats might be the toughest team in the playoffs"

I like Kasper and JD. I like most announcers. Coomer is bad.
