So what are saying is that 0 out of the top 6 fWAR pitchers on the Cubs were not drafted by the Cubs.

In other words, every single one of those players was available by way of other than tanking.

If they arent tanking they dont sign Scott Feldman as the oft mocked (Flip gamble)and trade for Jake.
If they arent tanking they definitely dont trade Dempster for Hendricks
If they arent tanking they dont draft Bryant


Seems like those 3 guys helped.

This is just another situation that shows no matter what happens or does not happen with the Cubs dolphin is going to create a thread to mock them. I would say it is a pretty good likelihood he already has some threads queued up based on the different outcomes for this upcoming playoff.

Sustained success......it is a reality, thanks to the drafting prowess of the Cubs, along with smart trades and some key free agent signings. They will need to address the significant potential loss of Arrieta and how they do that is going to be key. But the wimdow should be wide open for several more years.
