The renovations have been documented. The original offices above the ticket counters were pretty much the last thing left and those were gutted a month ago.

It's nice to have a namesake, one that is now STATE OF THE ART. Much better than Arrow Down Field.

HOTSTOVE : A former #mlb scout texted me that #Cubs Front office inquired about the availability both #Rays Closer Alex Colome and RHP Jake Orodizzi last Thursday.

According to @pgammo “industry consensus” is that FA Alex Cobb @Acobb53 is expected to pick one #Cubs or #Yankees soon. A source told me Cobb has multi-year offers from both teams #mlb.

My guy says he is going to take several million less to play for the Cubs.

It's a good bit. Nobody takes less to play for anybody. At least very rarely. The last guy who actually took less to play for the Cubs was Andre Dawson.

Heyward took less and I believe Lester did too.

St. Louis offered more money but more years. The Cubs had a higher average plus a better player option.

Kris Bryant(Boras client) also signed less right after the draft to sign with the Cubs.

The Cubs front loaded the deal then gave him a short term opt out with both parties expecting that the signing wouldn't be a failure and that the balloon payment the Cubs were making would then be followed with another huge contract while he was still in his 20s. Alas...

Andy did it for free but was fired by Reinsdorf/Einhorn when they took over the team.

With all the news about sexual assault these days, I wonder if Andy was some type of perv. Wouldn't surprise me.

There is essentially no part of Wrigley that is 100 years old.

Why can't they just redo the whole upper deck and lower decks? The pillars if I understand correctly are to keep the upper deck up. Even Dodger Stadium a 50+ year ballpark was constructed without pillars.

I hope they have plans to redo the decks and get rid of all obstructed views.

So this guy is not a ace right? Is he any good? or is the FA market this year so bad for pitchers that we can only go after #4 and #5s?

AJ Burnett took more than 4 million less a few years ago in choosing the Pirates over the Phillies. That was more recent than 1987.
