He said yesterday that he feels great when looking out on the field and seeing Heyward and Baez.

I think he may go heyward in CF tonight with Scwarber and Happ in corners.

Highly doubt Baez sits with hendricks on mound

I do too.

I'm falling in line with the fans earlier in the season that said Baez is much better at the plate when he has to split time...when he has to earn it. Once he became entrenched in the lineup, the PA's got worse and worse.

Cubs just need to score some runs early ... they HAVE to be leading into the 5th and 6th innings.

he needs to be platooned, just like Schwarber. Play him against non-crafty lefties.

Or get rid of him for some bullpen help in the offseason.

Would love to see La Stella, but the guy has no position on this team. Happ in left is fine, probably would get the same results, but fine. Personally, even though your not facing a lefty, play Almora. The guy has earned it. He needs to be a everyday player. If Almora started, I would move Jay to LF.

Meat and parkins guesses either Schwarber, Jay, zobrist in OF or Zobrist for Baez at 2nd. Maddon said one of them was right.

we should make a list of suspected Theo guys versus suspected Joe guys.

Joe guys: Baez, Zobrist, Heyward, Davis, Edwards

Theo guys: Schwarber, Almora

Some of Theo's guys who weren't Joe guys are already gone. Hammel, for example.

Heyward is a Theo guy. He had him on his projected lineup a year before FA that he showed to Lester during their negotiations.

That list makes no sense. CoF just says stuff sometimes.

I'll give on Heyward, but Joe CLEARLY wanted Zobrist and he wanted Baez (remember the whole "this kid plays such good defense" thing) before Baez was up on the MLB roster for good.

And Davis is a guy Joe had experience with.

Joe had experience with starter Wade Davis. Different guy.

And the move was more about a closer being available for a lesser player because of salary issues, not because Joe wanted him.

Zobrist is Joe's guy. Joe likes Javy. The rest doesnt make a lot of sense, imo.

He threw Edwards five games in a row. That's his guy. Why do you think Davis was targeted?

Because he plays for a team that has to make trades like that.

I dont care to argue this further. It doesn't matter.

IMO, the Cubs need to win at least 4 of the next 5 games to really have a shot at this thing.

it doesn't, but it's nice to see you concede on two out of four and not really have an argument for Edwards.

Every manager, coach etc has a few pets. I'll say no more than that.

I'd say all three.

Would be nice. The pressure would then be on the Dodgers.

Sigh, we gon do this?

Davis was the best option. How many closers do you think could have been had for Jorge Soler? Answer: 1, Wade Davis

Edwards is just the latest attempt at a set up guy. It was Rondon and Strop before him.

Zobrist and Javy are Joe guys. Schwarber iss a Theo guy.

The rest are both
