I think Kershaw has a 25.00+ ERA in innings 7/+ in the postseason. Not to mention the dodgers love to lose a lot of games 2 and or 3's so that way they gotta rush him.nack on short rest, and I'd tender a guess that the guy is properly knackered after doing what he does ("best in the biz") in the regular season.

Last year when he faced the Cubs in the Championship Series, Kershaw tossed 7 shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out 6 in a game the Dodgers would go on to win 1-0.

A few items to consider heading into the series, which begins Saturday night:

Clayton Kershaw won't see the seventh inning.

We all know about Kershaw's postseason history of hitting a wall in the seventh. It happened again in Game 1 against the Diamondbacks. Leading 7-2, manager Dave Roberts sent Kershaw back out for the seventh, and after getting one out, he promptly gave up back-to-back home runs to light-hitting Ketel Marte and Jeff Mathis -- his third and fourth home runs allowed in the game. Given his performance in that game and his postseason history, it's going to be six and done for Kershaw -- no matter the score.

Even knowing that, and even knowing this is the best Dodgers team Kershaw has been part of, no player left in the postseason has more weight on his shoulders than Kershaw. Look what's happened to the other big-time aces this year: Corey Kluber had two bad starts (he may have been injured); Chris Sale had one rough start and then faltered in relief; and Max Scherzer had a great start and then also faltered in relief. Only Stephen Strasburg carried over his domination from the regular season. Pitching in October is a different animal than April through September.

Maddon had his best game of the playoffs last night. Whatever he is doing, is working.

Totally. Maddon's genius caused the Nats to have a guy thrown out at home, allow a passed ball & throwing error combo, dropped liner, 1st pitch double-play, and guy get picked at 1st. And still only won by 1.

2015,2016,2017 NLCS, yeah, I think Maddon has done a great job with managing this team.

I'm convinced. When has Nas ever been wrong? I am now on board...There is no chance the Cubs lose this series. I mean no chance. It's money in the bank. Guaranteed. A lock. What could go wrong??

I hereby announce my support for the Chicago Cubs against the used-to-be Brooklyn Dodgers.

Thank you. And good luck to your Yankees. They face a tough task in the Houston Astros. This isn't the 2005/sub 90 win Astros either. This is a "REAL ASS" team.

Now has JJ watt already brought Houston back from the hurricane or are they allowed to transfer to baseball.

Either way wouldn’t be the first time a Chicago team prevented the saving if a city. #BostonStrong.

That was awesome. But they have no bullpen and no chance to win a 7 game series.

Great run, though. It was fun.

I mean, it's baseball so anything can happen, but yea Dodgers are all set up.

It would take a very bad performance by the Dodgers and a bunch of great ones by different Cubs.

Is the starters maintain an ERA under 1 thru the first 4 games like they did in the NLDS....maybe.

It's mostly luck.

Can you please stop saying dumb stuff like this unless you're actually going to attempt to refute it? Thanks.

Or just treat him like B&G by ignoring him.

The Dodgers had the best record, have their pitching all set up and rested and will be the favorites. The Cubs are greatly handicapped by Maddon's abuse of the pitching staff in the Nationals series, but they have made it to the NLCS for the 3rd straight year......sustained success.

Playoff Kershaw 5-7 with a 4.63 era.

Let’s go.

The Dodgers seemed to peak early in the season but then they came back to sweep a hot AZ team, so this won't be an easy series. Having said that, a lot of the Dodgers hitters haven't proven it on the big stage so I am predicting the Cubs in 6.

Seems like a Dusty style move. He will return when they fake another injury. The baseball gods don't care for that though so i expect more game 5 madness.

I believe he didnt make it out of the 4th this year when we seen him. He just doesn't scare me like Max or Stasburg or madbum. I dont think he'll make the difference in this series.

No Ian Happ. Not sure I agree with this. Zips shows Jay at .133 in 15 ABs vs Kershaw and Schwarber with 0 ABs. Kershaw is a reverse split guy so let's hope it works out.

Big outfield too, i could see the butcher turning a routine pop fly into a triple or homer.

I’m not available. I got a thing.

But I heard Rondon in / Wilson out.

Don’t quote me.

I like it. He obviously doesn’t want to use Wilson and I think Rondon can be very effective and not have Edwards throw his arm off.

It is ridiculous to start Schwarber against Kershaw. How is Happ not a better choice?

that's a good move. Rendon shows good stuff from time to time. Wilson pretty much never. Saves us Martin now for Defense.
