He does have a 1.something ERA against the Cubs.

Well, maybe not ... Brooks' numbers make it seem more reasonable.

At some point the pitchers are going to go to Joe or Hickey and say get that glove behind us every day.

And then Joe will explain why with numbers and charts and a gazelle over in the corner and go on for 25 minutes and then pat them on the back as he escorts them out of his office ... next thing the players knows, the game's in the third inning.

Of course statcast didn’t give him any love because they weren’t great catches, Jim. He just makes them look like great catches.

Never a problem with Craig Mack bringing us back to the game.

Strengths: Long neck, Pitching with 5 run leads

Weaknesses: Sleeve tattoo, Pitching with anything less than a 5 run lead

Edwards is brutal, he's a mental midget like Yu. Don't think he will ever be a closer because he doesn't have it between the ears. Pathetic performances the last few nights.

So has Edwards proven himself enough to be a closer yet or is he the perpetual future closer?

Cubs pen had been pretty exceptional all season till last night.

ERA+ numbers

Morrow 343
Cishek 223
Strop 273
Duensing 641

Even after last night Edwards is still above league average for ERA. So is Monty, and surprisingly Wilson.

The above numbers are admittedly unsustainable to some point, but this pen has been very good all season long.

Edwards gave it up last night. It happens.

WGN is showing the ninth innings of Hooton’s and Pappas’ no-hitters; holy shit was Pappas pissed when Froeming called ball four.

Yeah this has been a fun watch. Better than the product on the field lately.
