you may recall the Cubs Cards played a 5-game series at Wrigley in 2003 late in the season. The Cubs won 4 of 5 to overtake the Cards in the division and eventually win the division. That series was the springboard for the Cubs.

Dusty and Tony were yelling at each other from the dugouts. It was a Monday thru Thursday series. The Cards lone win was in the Tuesday doubleheader. Sosa hit a homerun in the nightcap in a 2-1 win.


Also, sidenote: The Boston Massacre. The Yankees swept the Red Sox in 5 games around 2007 or 2008 to put the Red Sox out of the race and springboarded them into the division crown.
