I’m going to hold off on putting AA in the HOF based on 3 innings of MLB . I will also hold off on putting Cease in based on striking out 19 yr old minor league batters .

Desperation? The Cubs have a top 5 rotation, the Sox have a bottom 5 rotation.

Sox rotation outside of Giolito is the worst in MLB but they aren’t competing because the owner is a cheap asshole. Cubs are competing and needed AA obviously. Not hard to see the difference amigo.

I got to see Cease in spring training with the Cubs in 2017 and thought immediately that he had a bright future. I hated that he was included in the deal (hated the deal period) with Jimenez. Alzolay has had 3 appearances and 2 of them were very good. Last night, it was almost as if the batters knew what was coming. Maybe he tips his pitches and they spotted something and took advantage of it. He certainly has not shown the ability to go deep in games, as he has failed to go even 5 innings in any appearance. But he has had 2 that surrendered very few hits and lots of strikeouts, so I am not going to let this one terrible outing to overly bias my opinion. He has good stuff, but given the choice of either, I would take Cease.
