No one that was on the roster start the season seems to give a shit about showing up now. It is going to be hard to beat anyone with that kind of an attitude. The pitching has been downright awful recently.

After they traded everyone I felt that there was no way they'd win another 20 games. Could of gone lower with that estimate. I think they have to win 11 to not drop 100 games for the season.

I'll keep taking the other team -1.5

Maybe parlay that with Giants -1.5 and watch Bryant and Baez play in San Francisco instead of wasting my time with the Cubs.

Larry Walker was mocking us in the RF bleachers in 1997 as we started the season 0-12. Ended up at 0-14 but COL was gone by then or he might have been perilously close to holding up both his hands twice to mock us instead of just taking off his glove to get the other 2 fingers up to show us 12 in that 9th inning.

But this is getting historic.

Yet somehow they are now 10 games over .500 and only a couple games behind the Padres for the second wild card.

Somehow Bully Hoyer didnt think we were capable of that. Fuck him. 2 months is a long time and things can change.

I’m not sure they have the 11 wins in them to not. There are some bad teams on the schedule but I’m not sure anything is as bad as this.

Happ, and the JHK are tremendously valuable losing asets during the tankathon. JHK came up yesterday when the Cubs were rallying only down 4-0. He of course feebly struck out to help kill the rally. I noticed Ross pinch hit for him when he was trying to win. But now doesn't. He's actually earning some of his money and being productive. He's a major leaguer (kind of). So he'll occasionally get a hit to screw things up. But all of a sudden he's a great guy to have on the roster. Wish they'd kept Jake.

Cubs already brought minor league baseball to Iowa. Why do they need to do it again?

If the JHK has 150 ab the rest of the year and by a miracle hits .300. he'd still be at only.236 for the season. Even if he did that he still wouldn't have 100 hits for the season. He's at 23 RBI. If he gets hot and has 15 more. That's 38 total in 420 ab for a RF.

Looks like Ross wasn't fucking around, went straight to Wick for the 7th.
