Bote even doing worse than JHK. Happ is hot. But it's only brought his yearly slashline to mediocre.
Interesting how much Wisdom, Ortega, and Schwindel fall off from here, if any.

With the vile winning still 10th worst pct overall.

Bryant & Cutler got attacked more than any players in recent Chicago sports history. Heyward gets praised by the media for being a "great guy".

I think it's more his agent. He's like his agent's bitch now.

When he got to the Giants he said all the right things like he grew up a Giants fans, loved Barry Bonds etc.....

Then the 2nd day he got there he's like It'd be great to sign a long term deal w/ the Giants. Giants are like WTF we just got you a day ago.

Yep.

People trashed him for the last 3 years. We looked for a 3rd baseman for 40 years after Santo, then we finally got one and rode him out of town.

FUCK BULLY HOYER.

It’s a tough call with him. The last couple years have tainted the overall experience. I think he’s a pretty genuine nice guy and his reaction and the fans reaction were great. He was fun to watch the first few years . I just think he’s injury prone now and not going to be worth the money he wants .

He's a career .280 hitter. He'll be back to 5 WAR next season.

What makes you say that ? He’s at .265 this year . What’s holding him back this year from doing that ?

Evan Longoria is hitting .287/.386/.527 and batting in the 7th spot. Yeah, the Giants are pretty good.

In comparison, the Cubs' 7th hitter is .195/.264/.327.

I want to see him play 145 games at one position next year. If that happens, I believe he'll put up numbers similar to '19, '17, '16, and '15.

Serious question: Was Bryant ever a beloved Cub? He wasn't flashy like Baez, he didn't make an impact like Sosa, and he was pretty boring as a personality. In 20 years will fans care about him?

Do fans care about Aramis Ramirez? 8.5 years with the Cubs, only one which was a clunker in large part due to injury. The rest of his full seasons were absolutely consistent .290/.355/.530, OPS+ 125-135, year after year.

I'm glad they traded him, but I appreciate what he did here (well not his literal trash playoff performances the last 3 times they made it, but I digress). Whatever he thought about the service time fuckery, he was always nothing but complimentary and professional in dealing with the Cubs and media when he didn't really have to be. He seems like a nice enough guy who wouldn't cheat on his high school sweetheart wife with a tiktok thot.

Rather have a Bryant here then Baez. Didn't want to pay him 250MIL, but would take him at 100MIL.

If given the 2, it's absolutely Bryant.

I don't think I've ever seen a player go from runner up MVP to pissing away a payday like Baez. Mets fans are already finished with him.

Far better Cubs career than Bryant.

Yeah he's a very serviceable 3rd baseman. I guess my overall point is, he's been healthy this year ( in comparison with recent others ) and in his free agent year at 29 years old hes putting up .265 ,25 with 65 RBI ? I expect a lot more than that for a guy that wants a huge payday and if he isnt going lights out this year of all years, what can you expect from him going forward ?Id take him back sure, 4/25 maybe ? 5/125 ? Im curious as to what his number will be and who will pay it

I think he will get more than Goldschmidt got (5/130) because he is younger and has position flexibility. Not a higher AAV but a 6th year. So around 6/155, maybe some mutual options or difficult vesting for years 7 and 8 to get it to look like $200M.

If he insists on 8 fully guaranteed, I don't think he will break $175M.

Eloy has matched JHK in HR, RBI (8,30) despite his first ab in late July, and having only 43% of JHK ab.
