Marquee is having a top 10 all-time Cubs by position. It's only post color barrier discriminating against men for when they were born. Even for post CB it's highly questionable. Outfield leaves off Dave Kingman, Kris Bryant, Rick Monday, Moises Alou, Gary Matthews, Jim Hickman. If it was the Yankees would they leave off Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig both pre CB? How about Joe DiMaggio or if Red Sox Ted Williams who both played pre and post CB?

10 George Altman
9 Jason Heyward
8 Jose Cardenal
7 Alfonso Soriano
6 Keith Moreland
5 Andy Pafko
4 Hank Sauer
3 Andre Dawson
2 Sammy Sosa
1 Billy Williams

i guess heyward is on the list for the king's speech? moreland? haha. i remember him lumbering out to the mound and nailing ed lynch with a texas football tackle. good days when the cubs trumped the mets for 1 season and then the cubs returned to being the cubs.

all in all, what a weak list of outfielders for a club that's been around for 140 years.

i suppose marquis is a premium product. graphics are ho-hum, but they failed to tell me who was batting after villar. no name and stats until the second AB for alfonso rivas.

will rivas be on marquis' top 10 1B list?

Bryant will be considered a 3B during his time as a Cub.

Alou and Matthews Jr?

Come on.

in fairness I think he meant Gary Matthews Sr., who only played for the cubs for a couple seasons and was hardly an all-time great Cub either.

The only time I see the Marquee Network programming is at the bar when a TV is left on after a game. All I ever see is the top 10 Take Me Out to the Ballgame countdown and the Sandberg two home run game against the Cardinals. Is that all their programming consists of?

Bryant would need a few hundred more OF games than he's a viable candidate.

Moises Alou (3 yrs) 283 .353 484 .837 116
Gary (Sarge) Matthews (4 yrs) .266 .381 .435 .815 120

Both's numbers tower over Heyward.

They had like 80 years of garbage, now 40 years of tourism, so this isn't surprising. Can you still drive down Clark or is it blocked off like it's the Washington Monument? Hehe, Jason Heyward. This makes my day.

2 Years of Dexter Fowler was more important than Heyward's tenure.
Dave Kingman, Rick Monday, Jim HIckman.

Bottom line.....Heyward has no business being on that list at all. Ridiculous.

These 10 were limited to Outfielders.

If we were doing one all-time player per position, we'd be arguing over Ron Santo v. Kris Bryant at 3B

The second my eye caught Heyward on the list was the second I stopped caring.

Forgot to put Fowler on as a candidate. Propagandists has rewritten history downplaying Fowler's role, and fabricating Heyward's.

2016 regular season
Dexter Fowler
.276 .393 .447 .840 123

Jason Heyward
230 306 .325 .631 68
5 for 48 (.104) 1 rbi (post season)

I agree, Marquee network should be forced in to liquidation because of this.

An OPS+ of 68 is heinous...and Heyward has done that twice!

Bob Dernier was an amazing defensive CF. Pesky slap somewhat weak hitting leadoff man. Why isn't he put on a pedestal for his defense?
