During the 7th inning stretch they cut to the Cubs radio booth and of course Coomer was eating

Agreed. I'm all for good sportsmanship, but this crosses a line. They'll get their acknowledgements and bouquets in St. Louis.

Cardinals radio said it's last game each road city MLB wide. Mandated PC bs.

Stroman is awful. Cubs have a chance to win a series after Luke Farrell and his 15 ERA outdueled Lou Brown's kid. $71 million man goes out and poops his pants.

Baseball savant Bob said that Stroman was good and it was a great signing for a #2 in this market.

Hmph.

Boog on Stroman "that's what a top of the rotation guy does...grind out 5 innings".

That's bullshit...but not surprising.

Why wasn't Wainwright included? He's got a higher career WAR than Molina and has been with the Cardinals all 17 years.

David Ross on Marcus Stroman.

Weak contact found holes...it's frustrating.

Stroman 5 in, 85 pitches, 11 hard hit balls
Dakota Hudson 7 in, 97 pitches, 5 hard hit balls

For some reason, Stroman can't pitch at Wrigley worth shit. Which is a shame because he actually honestly likes being a Cub and seems to want to be a leader, but if you play for any team other than Colorado you have to pitch well in your home ballpark.

Looks like Pujols should be back too at this rate.

Spiegel said yesterday that it doesn't make a difference if he ends up at 700 homers, and that 697 would be just as good "if you're not going to be Number 1." Parkins rightly responded that 700, or even 715 (breaking Ruth's total) would certainly be desirable.

I think Pujols is saying all the right things. But if he ends up at 698 and the Cardinals don't sign any free agents, I would expect him back after the minor league season starts and they can move some guys off the 40 man to the 60 day IL. He's just absolutely crushing lefties, and he understands his role and not to get pissed if they pinch hit Donovan for him in the sixth inning against a righty reliever.
