Foley will call the nightcap of the Cubs’ doubleheader against the Cardinals. He’ll work the first three innings on 670 The Score, move to the Marquee Sports Network booth for the middle three and finish the game on radio.

It will be interesting if he gives any reaction doing Cubs play-by-play with his color analysts praising the team non-stop when they're 20+ games <.500.

Working the middle innings in the other booth is a broadcasting tradition that should have kept up through the '90s. I don't know why the Cubs didn't do it with Len and Pat.

Not too bad, a little scatterbrained because of the gimmickness of it all. I think he sounds good in a baseball context. He probably could have done Howie Rose-style double duty over the years if he wanted to.

I noticed a few minor gaffes but unlike the team that game he brought energy and fun. An enjoyable listen and watch.

The blowout meant he could tell a lot of stories. JD being a hockey fan from upstate NY was a good foil for him, it would have been horrific with say Dempster in the booth.

Pat got really excited on Arenado's home run, and then remembered that was the visiting team.

I turned it off during the 6th as the game was out of hand and 15 innings of baseball watching yesterday was enough for me.

On the radio side he paid nice tribute to Pat Hughes. And he described the uni colors in the style of Pat Hughes. Trousers, caps, bills, etc.

Little I could find of the audio...Foley sounded good. Certainly an upgrade over the generic style of Boog.
