Carlos Rodon vs Drew Smyly.

Rodon has been great this year. You wonder where the Sox would be with him. Dude is top 5 in the MLB in strikeouts. Never knew him to be a strikeout pitcher.

Smyly comes away with the win today.

Madrigal on the IL with the other groin than the one he hurt earlier this year. I doubt we will see him back this year at this point, I believe that after ten days they can procedurally move him to the 60-day even though there aren't 60 days left in the season, and bring up another fielder who is on the fence for being on the 40-man this November for a tryout, or bring up a third catcher and let Higgins play more 1B.

Stroman is playing up to form. High 3s era. I see him going on & off the IL his remaining 2 years a lot with all the dough he's making. Boog called him a top of the rotation guy (of course). He's an overpaid decent 4. Would you want him starting a short series playoff game?

Zach McKinstry is getting an opportunity of a life time getting 94 ab so far a lot of minor leaguers would love to have. Strikes out a lot for a no slug guy. Grandpa praised his high baseball iq when he came over. Grandpa has been mum on him recently. But I guess even Rossy draws the line on the adulation with a 36 ops+

Stroman is a 3 AT BEST. Giving him borderline ace money was just plain stupid on Hoyer’s part. Plus he averages only 120 innings a year.

this is the most PATHETIC ESPN broadcast I've ever seen.

Not because it's 2 losing teams, but because they are not calling the fucking ballgame.

They have ZERO faith in the players and ballgame themselves, that they have to try and interview players and managers during the game.

And asking them questions about Whitney Houston. Franmil Reyes? Who wants to see him sing Whitney Houston? Fuck him and fuck ESPN.

They think that will get people to watch. Fuck that. I turned it off. I want to watch the GAME, not desperate interviews with players who are trying to do their job.
