Vogelbach is a huge pig.

Mets have retaken the lead in the East.

Shea stadium looks empty for a first place team.

Mets pinched hit a guy 1 for 31 bases loaded trailing by 4 8th inning. That's not too impressive.

Cubs now 3-7 in Sept. Ross will be bursting with joy. Sox 8-3.

Howie Rose is fantastic on the Mets radio broadcast. I only caught the last two and a half innings, but he was totally disgusted that the Mets lost to a team like the Cubs who arrived at 5am after Sunday Night Baseball. He just couldn't stop jabbing the Mets, especially after that 8th inning rally fizzled with the bases left loaded.

He mentioned that DeGrom is starting tomorrow "but it doesn't matter if this team can't score any runs."

Right. Plus, the Cubs have always handled DeGrom pretty good.

I'll have to see if I can patch in a fuckin feed with the Mets radio broadcast. Maybe go out to bumfuck Indiana and see if I can get some reception.

What station on the dial is it? AM or FM?

Cubs IL numbers are very interesting. The numbers some of these guys have racked up is wild. Counting Heyward's thievery 92 this year the saint's got a whopping 193 as a Cub. As Cubs Hoerner has 125, Madrigal 75, Stroman 42, Keegan Thompson 49, Justin Steele 58, Wade Miley 138, Seiya Suzuki 40, David Bote 154, Adbert Alzolay 196, Drew Smyly this year 41. He also was under contract in '18 with 187 and never pitched for 3 mil. Happ has been impressive with only 12 as a Cub.

It's on SiriusXM. They broadcast on WCBS AM 880 which you will never get in Illinois due to WLS.

i had the mets at 3-1 last night and it was obvious that bassitt was way off. he telegraphed any non-fastball by noticeably slowing down his motion.

rose was right. bassitt and the mets would have needed to shut out the cubbies to win. he expected the polar bear and lindor and nimmo and cahna and mcneill to hammer the rookie in new york. met bats went to sleep last night.

Guys, HUGE betting opp. tonite.

Mets & DeGrom favored -455.

Sampson pitchin'. Cubs have always handled DeGrom well.

If you bet Cubs you might hit some big bucks.

Ortega gets hbp bunting with fingers exposed facing the pitcher. Weren't we all taught (Parkins & Bernstein by butler) as kids to keep fingers in back of the bat held loosely when bunting. These are the same guys fed data to process.

Cubs up 3-0 in the 5th. DeGrom has thrown 81 pitches.

Probly not too late to get some value on the Cubs here. Go in and bet!

Ok, just bought a Sirius subscription. Was on the phone 2 hours with them.

Tuning in now. Ch. 857? WTF?

Play by play guy sounds like Dewayne Staats.

So much for McKinstry snapping out of his funk - four strikeouts tonight.

All these Cubs pitch lab guys come on strong early then fade. Sampson is 30 with not a lot of minors or MLB success. There's something positive about the command and how comfortable they look. But the injuries, durability, and sustained success are all in question. Cubs are known for flash in the pans. When homegrown pitchers have success for multiple years, are all stars, contribute to postseason victories I'll believe it. For now I'm not biting.

Mets are absolutely lifeless and disinterested in this series against the dreadful Cubs. A Mets comeback would be hilarious. Listened to Howie Rose top of the 1st. He lit up the Mets walking the bases loaded. Color guy even brought up warming up 2 pitchers pregame as a dig at the starter.

Just great to see the level of effort we are seeing. Stolen bases, guys making magnificent plays in the field, advancing runners. It is a sign that Ross is doing a good job as far as I am concerned. Nobody is mailing it in and booking golf dates and vacations yet. A sweep of a contending team.....on the road....pretty sweet.
