Kris Bryant 105 days on IL in '22. Has played in 42 games. Big surprise, in '21 his contract year he played in 144 games.

Cubs at 27-25 since the All Star break, including winning the last 4. Sure, it's still a team with a losing record,but most games they play hard and games are generally entertaining and competitive. If not for having traded 4 bullpen arms, who knows how many more games might have gone their way.

Interesting play Rockies 7th. Man on 3rd. All infield playing in on the grass. Ball hit weakly to 2nd basemen McKinstry. Comes in bobbles the ball. Then throws it away. McKinstry could of got 2 errors if the hitter advanced to 2nd on his bad throw but didn't. Home cookin' scorer. No error charged. Rockies tv guy says good throw gets him. JD maybe. Doesn't mention bobble. Boog praises ZM for hustling to retrieve the errant ricocheted ball off the wall.

The Cubs pitchers called up have shown command & control hitting the corners and getting hitters to chase. Not today so far. Javier Assad walked the bases loaded in the 1st even getting high strike calls. The league will adjust to the Cubs recent pitching success. Of these call-ups who will be a pretender and who will be the real deal if any. Cubs are 7th pitcher MLB IL days. Who will be durable if any.
