Pete Crow would be such a fantastic name. The Armstrong makes it so clunky and woke.
vitoSCOTi, Bob, rogue, among others would prefer Jim Crow.

think of all the stupid nicknames they can coin for him a la Frank The Tank.

The Crow? nice work, Zach Zaidman.

Eric Draven? better

I dont give a fuck what his name is. Hit and catch the ball and you can call him anything you want.

I'll take the under...

in that division? I don't know. Could get to 80

Too much has to go right (or even perfect) based on their current roster. They are going to strike out a ton. Not sure if they'll hit enough. Defense shouldn't be a problem. Starting pitching is more quantity than quality. As CCFC said, bullpen is a question mark.

Hope I'm wrong but I just don't see 78 wins.

He pretty much gets called PCA at least in the media. My vote is to go with Dewey.

The mclaskys should buy the cubs and promise to invest their entire net worth into players and actually do nothing but put those dumb little blue hats on all their white fans

Odd that a team full of mediocre position players who've had a rough last couple of years is proclaimiing to be vastly improved from last year's bunch of mediocre position players when most people see slight improvement. Who really cares if 1 year and gone contract guys have good years anyway when they're only keeping seats warm for possible future Albert Almoras? This is a team with a promising young pitching staff. I don't believe for a minute this is a good team and all of Hoyer's, grandpa's, and the Score's bs. I don't think they believe it either.

After Kap and Gordon Wittenmyer left NBCSC "Cubs Talk Podcast" then braindead Tim Stebbins' got laid off they haven't done an episode other than a Leila softball Tom Ricketts interview. They finally posted a new Cubs discussion episode. With 2 nobodies and who's the new host? Yes it's generic Score Cubs shill Leila. Kap and GW by themselves only ok. But together they had a great animosity and would slug it out making for a good listen. Leila as host is the unofficial death of "Cubs Talk Podcast".

One of the nobodies is the Kermit the Frog sounded James Neveau. He's also on the Blackhawks Talk Podcast and used to be Zawaski's co-host before Jay moved over to that new sports talk entity. Neveau is useless. Agree on the new-look Cubs Talk; very generic and misses the banter between Kap and Gordon.

From a betting perspective 77.5 is a good number tough to go either way. The tricky part is if the Cubs are around the .500 mark in July and still in the playoff race they have minor league talent to pull off a major trade.

That would mean Bellinger and the others that were brought in were performing well. If that was the case, I wonder if they would white flag it and get a good haul for those guys. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Good article in yesterday's Sun-Times comparing the Cubs & Cardinals "culture". The St Louis Post Dispatch has done similar angles before.

(670 The Score) With the start of spring training just around the corner, the Cubs have added another arm to their mix.

Right-hander Michael Fulmer and the Cubs have agreed on a deal, Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic reported Friday afternoon. Fulmer will strengthen the Cubs’ bullpen as he comes off a pair of strong seasons.

Fulmer, 29, posted a 3.39 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 67 relief appearances split between the Tigers and Twins in 2022. He had a 2.97 ERA in 2021, when he transitioned from being a starter to a reliever.

Grandpa Rossy's '23 "high quality humans" sitting at 77.1 wins.

PECOTA believes the Cubs have only a 9.5% chance to make the playoffs and a 4.2% chance to win the division.

cubbie chubbies were whipped out all over the radio this morning

Do people really think that highly of Nico Hoerner, or is it just a subsection of cub fans who call the station?

Ron Coomer discussing Cubs catching this year compared to last.

When Willson was catching the team ERA was over 1 run higher than when the other guys were catching... possibly even 1.50 higher.

Actually Contreras ERA was .30 higher than Gomes and .08 lower than Gomes & Higgins combined.

I'm just happy we don't have to listen to Pat say "CONE-treras" anymore.

Here we go with the first Cubs '23 miraculous 20 lbs weight gain in 5 months. He's got a hole in his swing already on high strikes.

Kap & Gordon Wittenmyer have a new Cubs podcast. Looks like no dreadful Tim Stebbins which is a plus. A snake oil salesman and a lunatic fringe liberal have some great Cubs talk together. Had some good Cleavinger opinions near the end of the first episode. Leila taking over their old NBCSC podcast is struggling to get a few hundred views when Kap & GW would sometimes get 10k on YT.

Suzuki bulks up like Giolito, and then gets hurt with the inevitable oblique injury right out of the gate.

The Cubs/Score/Marquee have repeatedly called Bellinger a gold glove CF. His one gold glove in '19 he was a gold glove RF (115 games), not a gold glove CF (25 games).

Coomer dropped his guard with P & S and said he was stunned by Suzuki's weight gain in the shoulders.

Compare Suzuki next to his interpreter.
