Bauer was arguably at the peak of his career when this started and became a pariah over false accusations. Kaep was very bad before he opted for unemployment and had an all-time juice/squeeze imbalance.

The collective bargaining agreement between players and MLB would probably be a bar to any lawsuit against them. He was "properly" suspended under that I assume. At least that would be the basis for a motion to dismiss I'm guessing.

Longshot, and MLB usually just opens the checkbook to settle potentially viable lawsuits challenging their antitrust exemption, but maybe challenge the appropriateness/validity of MLB's antitrust exemption: it effectively prohibits Bauer earning a living pursuing his chosen profession within the U.S.
