Got to like Contreras' honesty. He's going to be chirping all year especially when he faces the Cubs unless the Cards tell him to cool it. He really went for the jugular badmouthing the whole Cubs organization. The Cubs will be mediocre a couple more years and possibly the length of his new contract. Cubs culture = being an "all is great" ass kisser despite of losing. Cardinals culture = actually trying to win.

He was my favorite player. Cubs didn’t want to pay him so I totally get it. I do think the organization has changed a bit since Theo left. Just another chapter in the Cubs vs Cards story. Nothing to see here.

Jordan Walker is the top prospect in MLB, drafted a dozen spots after the Cubs took Howard. They just do everything better from top to bottom because they gave better ownership, Front office and players. A much better organization. It's comparable to the Bears and Steelers.

When Ed Howard was drafted in '20 (Theo's last #1 Cubs pick) the thing that struck me then was he only hit 6 homers his final 2 years of high school at Mt Carmel. He appears to be still be at his HS playing weight of 185 with injuries factoring in. He was a huge project for being the 16th pick. Struggling to hit in the minors. Another move Theo gets a pass on.

Shows how pathetic the Cubs have been in my lifetime.
