So pitchers can basically circumvent the pitch clock by throwing to a base (if runners are on), I guess they didn't think of that

This year's rule:

Quote:
In other words, a pitcher can throw over to first base up to three times, but the third attempt must lead to an out or the runner gets to advance a base. The disengagement rule resets when a runner gets to a new base. With no runners, a third step-off would result in a mound visit.


So if you throw 3 times and don't get an out, it's a balk.

yup. guy is fine nationally when you see him once a week or once a month but day to day it gets old fast.

Joe G was pretty good I thought. He kept talking with JD which I thought was great. Sort of had a Kruk/Kuip chemistry to it. It's early though.
