35-40MPH winds and temps struggling to reach 40 degrees tomorrow. Wouldn't surprise me if they bagged the Saturday game.

with so few off days during the season, it always strikes me as odd they would schedule an off day after Game 1 of 162

its to account for the possibility of opening day getting postponed

And makes zero sense to start in Chicago when they are playing a team with a retractable roof.

It is dumb even for that reason.

one of the better opening day's weather wise. Field looked kinda weird in LF, like the grass was patched in a bunch of spots....

It is dumb even for that reason.

We go through this every fucking season.
A) Staring end of March / early April is plain idiocy.
B) Even with that stupid decision. Load these games in warm climates and enclosed stadiums.

Regular season should be May 1 - Labor Day weekend. Add double headers and shorten the number of total regular season games.

Steele deserved better after looking great.

Dansby looked good at plate and in field today too.

Cubs didn't even sell out on Opening Day. Even the Reds drew 8,000 more.

Mancini is playing first with Madrigal at third today. I'm assuming Mervis will be up in May.

Most of the cold weather games will be over on May 14 at Minnesota. They have a 9 game homestand over Memorial Day which could be a bit chilly (I have bad memories of a Memorial Day DH vs the Mets), but for the most part the sharp anti-power weather will be over.

Morel is also raking in Iowa. Master Bone can go away anytime and Hosmer can follow him out the door if he doesn't start hitting.

Fuck Ross. Why are there 3 bad hitting catchers on this team? That has to be all him.

I will admit that it was cool to see the young Brewers carry the team today but this is not a championship team and their cheap ass owner will be trading away their best player at some point this season.

The collective brain trust is paying a combined 40 million dollars this year for Bellinger and Heyward. Intelligent spending. Bellinger is a stiff, literally and figuratively. What idiot thought it would be a good idea to sign him? His stance is awful, no chance he can turn on a fast ball looking like Uncle Fester at the plate.
