I have said this numerous times. You see a good mix of talent and a lot better baseball. The Cubs have a huge run differential (+43) having lost a lot of close games. This is not really a playoff team yet, but you see talent emerging. Plus they are fun to watch. Much better than what we have had the last few years.

Jim Edmonds was saying last night on the Cards broadcast that when Contreras puts down the wrong sign, the pitchers have to know to shake it off. He was blaming the pitchers for throwing the wrong pitches.

We all knew as cubs fans Willie was dumb as fuck when it came to baseball IQ. And many others here posted how we can't win with a dumb catcher.

I'm sure the first pitcher who tried to shake him off he went spaz on. That's probably why the pitchers are all scared of him and just throw the wrong pitch when the idiot puts down the wrong sign.

Im surprised the Cards are so surprised by this when this guy was in the same division when playing w/ the cubs.

There seems to be some similarities with the 2014 team for the young players, but with more veteran players in both the offense and starting pitching to provide stability.

Hopefully Hoyer learned from Theo's mistakes and trades high on one hitter and one pitcher each year. He definitely did that with Rizzo, Baez and Effross, and appears to have done it with David Robertson (Brown looks to eventually be a beast on the mound). The challenge will be if he can continue to do it while they are improving.
