Here is my analysis after both series

Cubs are definately contenders for the division. I don't see the Reds or Brewers really much better than the Cubs.

For the Pennant, they're still not as good as the elite teams in the NL. They may win a few games in the playoffs but I don't think they can make the WS. But we never know as October baseball is a completely different animal than August.
