I too am stunned that a guy with a 5 1/2+ ERA didn’t get it done.

I'm shocked Jed handed out another bad contract

Hey believe me I’d rather have a certified stud/ace like Cease or Kopech going but we have to work with what we have.

This is when you wish the Cubs had a pitching coach who could correct the problems with Taillon, or Smyly or Wesneski. Instead the Cubs have Hottovy and for the most part pitchers get worse when they come here

Steele, Assad and Wicks(small sample) all pitching well. Maybe it's Jed signing garbage vets that suck

Typical Cub fan thread. All sunshine and rainbows for a new pitcher/player until it turns and then murder them. Taillon sucked with the Pirates, sucked in between and still sucks. This is not news.

It is funny how similarly the Cubs and Sox treated their pitching coming into the season. Difference is everyone said Sox suck and didn't do enough. Cubs are supported with praise that they have a chance and can fix them even if bad with their Cub magic. The score and general media sell you this shit and you still eat it up like Theo never happened.

Keegan Thompson pitched well last year too, was bad this year and the cubs couldn’t fix him. Wesneski was good last year, struggled this year and can’t get on track. Taillon had an ERA of 3.91 last season, 4.30 year before. His career high is 4.44. He is at 5.62 this year. He has never been this bad.

Smyly has an ERA of two runs higher than last year. Hottovy is not going to fix things. If Steele or Assad go bad there going to be in the same witness protection program as another Cub prospect Kaleb Killian

You must operate only green locomotives to fit with your envy.

What happened to Taillon abandoning the mandated new to his repertoire sweeper pitch fixing him theory?

dan is thinking that taillon got hit so hard, taillon must be tipping his pitches. what i had noticed earlier is that when he does get ahead in the count, his 'waste' pitch(es) is/are so uncompetitive that they're not swung at and 0-2, 1-2 quickly becomes 2-2/3-2 and then he has to come in.

i remember when the yankees played, odds dropped and the over increased whenever he pitched. vegas knew.

JD/Marquee making excuses for Tallion. He was pitching everything right in the middle of the strike zone. You dont need to tip pitches if you're throwing batting practice.

How's the untouchable Alzolay doing this series?

He blew one save. That happens to closers sometimes.
Hes 22 of 25 in save attempts. He has a whip under 1.
Did you think you had a gotcha with me there? If so, you make a bad choice of subjects.
