Just read he would ask to be traded if he doesnt start this year. Also, seems the cubs inquired during the offseason. I wouldnt mind this guy over the Pie/Fuld mixture projected. Wonder why the cubs couldnt get him away.

I'd be ok with a trade for Crisp. I don't think you'd have to give up too much to get him.

I describe Crisp in the same manner as Brandon Inge: at first glance he looks like someone you would like but on closer inspection he is very average. He is not even a natural centerfielder.

Fair enough, but he has one year left on the contract for 5mil and an 8mil option. I would gamble that he would be better for the next year then Pie or Fuld.

Inge and Crisp would be an upgrade from what they have on the northside. Although i could see this being one of those "FANTASTIC! The Cubs got CoCo Crisp, he'll be awesome - and then he turns in a horrendous year" kind of deals - but i digress

Do you really need a "team"guy like this? He's not worth the ego massaging needed. The Cub have enough head cases.

i dont mind coco crisp, but i dont see enough of an upgrade from a fulltime try of felix pie. i like crisp/pie better than fuld/pie, but i wouldnt give up much for crisp. i think they really need to play pie every day and see what they have, and if the guy can hit. hes batting eighth, so if he cant hit , he is a good enough fielder where you can still play him and pinch-hit for him late in games and run fuld out there, and it wont kill you. he still can help defensively. it doesnt kill this team if they dont get a lot of offensive production out in CF.

Crisp is only 27 and while in Cleveland he had back to back years of .300 BA's

I would take him in a second. Fuld, Crisp and Pie is fine with me. Even if Fuld gets sent down to start so we can get some power as a 5th OF.

Crisp has plenty more left in him and could still get much better

You gotta wonder if Hendry will pull the trigger on any of these trades. He can afford to move 1 or maybe even 2 starters, but you're looking at Coco Crisp, Brian Roberts, maybe Marlon Byrd in your possible trades. I doubt that he can pull off all three, much less two of the three, but if I made any of those deals I'd definitely grab Roberts over Crisp or Byrd.
