Here's the 2008 Cubs/Sox wagers. Last year I cleaned house with my wagers, although I got one paid off I'm still waiting on the pay from the other bet   .
So here's the chance to wager it up.
Doug, in another thread you said Cubs 90 Sox 85 wins.
If I give you the 5 games, we have a wager? Cubs +5 over Sox?

Take the difference in baseball prospectus anticipated wins and I would be game. I think it was 77 Sox and 92 Cubs.

Hell, I'm a Cubs fan and I'd even take the Sox and 15 wins  .

How about -10 wins, just to split the difference between the two figures. I'd take the Cubs -10.

Also, Buehrle vs. Zambrano # of wins should be pretty good.

Why split the difference? Aren't you one of the die hard supporters of the Prospectus guys? Wouldnt their predictions be tantamount to Vegas setting the betting line on an NFL game? I dont follow baseball very closely but I notice their names come up in almost every argument.

I don't follow baseball as closely as I follow football, hence the reason for my hedging. I am generally a believer in the sabermetric model however, and I'm awaiting my Baseball Prospectus as we speak (damn Amazon)

Upon further consideration, I would also entertain wagers with the Cubs -15.

I am down for $550 for the Sox winning less than 78.5 games.

While I know they can win more, I am looking forward to White Flag II - and I cruise to my win.

Any Sox fans want to take your top 3 HR producers against Ramirez, Soriano and Lee with the stakes being a 12 pack of your beer?

I dunno....I'll decide when I win. ;)

Just dawned on me that Fields could be traded...though not likely, still a possibility, so if thats the case I can replace him with Crede?

I guess, but you take Fields until the trade and then Crede's after the trade.
Come on! It's a lousy 12 pack in October!

I like it. Say ERA vs. ERA minimum 20 starts...
Stakes? I have something in mind, standby...

The only beer I produce is the kind that is recycled after being "hot filtered" through my bladder.

Frank, why are you passing on Dye? The man will hit 30 homers in his sleep at the Cell.

Darkside,

I'll take Cabrera's HR total vs. Fukodome.

Are you serious? I'm not sure that's a good wager for you. He's never hit more that 17, and seems to be on the backside.
On the other hand, I really have never seen Fuk do much of anything so I'm not sure what he can do....
I guess I'll think about that one. Sure you don't want to go for a combo? Dye and Soriano was a great wager last year, back and forth until Dye was more hurt than they let on...

I know absolutely nothing about Fukodome, so I would be confident in that wager. I would be willing to throw in Dye and Soriano again for the combo.

I fully expect our avatar wager to be valid for this year as well.

The Cell is a launching pad and 17 will be more than enough. I have Fukudome for around 10 this year. Feel free to take that one Ugie.

Yeah, but 18 was his "career year".
