Hendry has really fucked this up. Has been after this guy all winter, and he still hasn't finished it. He has left this team without a leadoff hitter again.

Either this Roberts character is really hard to get, or I think kenny Williams is a douchebag. Both teams need a leadoff guy, but the Sox need a 2B like 10x more than the Cubs do. Kenny is continually contradicting himself with the "We are built to win now" attitude and his actions. And no, bigfan did not sign in under my name.

Kenny Williams to me is nothing more than an asshole. Never have seen a GM in this game have more problems with more players, ex players and other GM's than Kenny has. He is still one of the younger GM's in the league and appears to not have learned from any of his past mistakes.

The deep thinking Sox groupies like to chalk it up to his fire and ignore his foolish and immature behaviors, which either way you wish to spell it out have cost him deals and players, whether he likes to admit it or not.

Favre Fan, you can call him a Douchebag, but I think that is a being a bit generous as his abrasive and confronting personality are nothing more than that of a typical bully.

he sure would have looked good leading off, but it does seem like the orioles wanted a lot for him. i wish it had gone down, but im not sure hendry completely fucked up. the silver lining is that he may still have chips to play at or before the trade deadline, if the cubs are in a good position by then. they should be able to get by with derosa at 2nd, although the top of the order still looks shaky with theriot and soriano up there. but if they can get through the first half, be in a contending position, maybe they can trade before the deadline for what i think may be a greater need....starting pitching down the stretch.

poor brian roberts - he is the big loser here. he has to play for the orioles another season.

What I heard David Kaplan talking about was that all scouts thought the rumored deal was fair but the O's kept trying to get more major league ready talent out of the deal and the Cubs didn't want to give it up.

What did they get Bedard? I don't remember being blown away by the report when I read it. Are they trying to get more for Roberts than they did for Bedard? WTH?

What is up with everyone pinning this on Hendry and Williams? I think it's more the fault of McFail and Angelos that Roberts hasn't been moved. I don't know what exactly they want for the ex-doper, or if they really want to trade him at all.

Apparently they want more "major-league ready" prospects but who knows why because they are obviously in full blown rebuilding mode.

They got a lot of A and AA developmental type guys in the Bedard deal.

Murton, Cedeno, Marshall? those guys all have experience in the Show, i say offer 2 of those spare parts + Eric Patterson and MacPhail would be a fool to refuse.

The big loser in all of this? Brian Roberts

Agree with everyone. DeRosa is ok at 2nd, I'm just worried with Theriot at the top. I know he had 28 steals, but I don't really see him doing that again, and we all know that Soriano won't be hitting to the right side to move him over.
