They put a new one to the right of their existing board. It's blank right now. Just a green screen. I've noticed other teams with 2 boards as well.

Why not? Now you can double that revenue stream.

They usually just have those boards up for ESPN and Fox games. Are they showing ads on there for the local telecasts too?

I know. But they would just super impose ads for those national games on their existing board. For local broadcasts they aren't super imposed. It's actual signage. ESPN isn't doing todays game anyway.

Maybe they just put it up but haven't sold new ads yet.

It came up for a Braves game, and then came back down, and now it's back up again. I think it must be the road team's.

I noticed that virtual ad board behind the plate as well. Unfortunately, ESPN will be airing the Diamondbacks/Red Sox Interleague game tomorrow night, so that "green screen" will be gone by the time the Cubs & Orioles play Game 2 of this series. You'll definitely see that virtual board when FOX Sports & ESPN are in town this weekend for the Saturday afternoon & Sunday night rematches of the Crosstown Series at U.S. Cellular Field.

Could be Curious. Maybe some road teams ask for it to be up cuz they sell ads on the road. That's why it's a green screen. That's awful accommodating by the Cubs.

Why don't they just use two boards for themselves and double their "behind the plate ad revenue"?
